Plagiarize,
Let no one else's work evade your eyes,
Remember why the good Lord made your eyes,
So don't shade your eyes,
But plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize -
Only be sure always to call it please 'research'.
Just a little something to chuckle at.

What is the difference between plagiarism and research?

Heh. Big difference, though!
But that was the joy of a history degree; I wrote reports with 6 to 8 quotes per page and the prof's loved it.

Thank you, H Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky Dean.
Tell me, Mr. Author, do you have any opinion on publishing this stuff as an e-book for-pay, and on sites you would recommend or NOT recommend?

Clevernick, I noticed your question in a different thread yesterday but didn't have time to reply then. I've not personally had any experience with them, but I've heard many good reports about lulu dot com. The way they operate appears to be clear and straightforward. They're a 'publish on demand' company and you can sell your work either as e-texts or as hard copy. From what I remember, they don't charge anything up front to register your work for sale but take a commission from each sale. It's likely a much larger commission than a regular publisher but then, there are no minimum print runs to pay for. As for whether they will publish BDSM material, I didn't look that deeply into their small print, but I was originally referred to them by another BDSM/erotica writer who was pleased with their service.
Anyway, I hope that helps. I'd be interested in hearing your reports if you choose to go that way.
Incidentally, erotica imprints such as Black Lace may now also offer e-text sales for authors. They're kinda like the Mills & Boon of the erotica world. If your writing is more hardcore, there's a company called Read Magic. They own the back catalog on Greenleaf Classics and similar imprints that specialized in hardcore BDSM fiction. They also publish new titles so, I guess they're also in the market to buy new titles.

Thanks so much, anonymousie! I'm actually kind of astonished at the lack of response to this basic question, and I thank you for your help!
I can't figure this site out. 1 post a minute to "Fun and Games", 6 reads a day to a question on "General talk". It's a strange place.
What's happened to all the other authors who post here?

you might look into Pink Flamingo, i think they do pay for some, if it meets their standards.

hehe - they're busy posting to the Fun & Games threads!
When I first joined the site here, I also thought it was a bit strange to find so many frivilous threads. One of the more seasoned members here can correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of such threads is the activity is helpful to boost Internet search results and draw new people to the site. Whether or not that's true, I'm happy to contribute to the nonsense if it helps make the site look active. :)
If you're having trouble keeping track of the more serious threads, there is an option to subscribe and receive email notification of new posts in those threads.
Oh, and happy to help with the publishing suggestions. Good luck with that!

Thank you very much, Dragon's Muse!
I just looked up Pink Flamingo publishing but I don't think I found the one you refer to. The only one Google finds sells just one book, on Real Estate. :)
I hope more answers come in...

I think the thread with most of that info would be Ruby's excelent one
The Rocky Road to Publishing

Lots of links and great info there
Call it well researched:)

As an FYI...
The links in the above referenced thread were posted before the forum rules changed... that is the only reason commercial links are posted in a thread at this time. The thread is still available for view but has been closed from further postings.
Thanks!

I certainly am glad that those links were posted there and haven't been removed! I think on a forum for writers, that type of information is golden and should be available. If bdsmlibrary ever provides a complete end-to-end e-publishing and pulp publishing service, well, then it's promoting the competition.
But right now it's just helpful resources.

The prolific Piers Anthony has his own website which contains a long and detailed, frequently updated listing of web publishing sites for authors who wish to make money, including reports on which ones pay best and which sometimes forget to pay.
It is in no way a pay site itself, so I assume it's within the rules to post the url:
[url]
P.S. I'm very excited. I wrote to him and he wrote back!

Careful Nick you'll get our thread closed.
Well I suppose a link to a link would be a stretch

it is not about sites being pay or not although the pay sites are spam ====the whole thing is Sponsors ----the people who pay to keep this site free for all of us ----they do not like to pay to advertise other sites ---plain and simple ---now the other post was before we got the sponsors and I am trying to keep it open by not bringing alot of attention to it ----I suggested closing it so it could not be added to ---but could still be read ---if you wish to pass on info for authors ---do it in a private message ---make a post saying you have such info and anyone wanting it should contact you and you will either email it to them or send it in a private message ----
I hope you all understand this ----Sponsors for sites like this are few and far between---and we can not afford to loose any ----
