Can the auto tagging for url's have an option to turn that feature off for posts? I have tried to edit it out of the post, but when I save the post it is automatically readded.

This caused one of my links in a post to be removed because it was to a commercial site. I had tried in vain to remove the tagging so the url could be there, without the hot link to the site. Due to this auto tagging feature it prevents inactive links from being posted.

The easiest way is simply to put a blank space in the url and then tell the readers "if you want to chack this out, just paste it and remove the blank" but I don't know how it counts with site policy here to leave a "cold url" to what is still a commercial site.

I tried that actually, the library caught the URL and auto tagged it.

Example:

http://www. seethespace.com

**EDIT**

Hmm, actually it droped the auto tag if I made a space... though it didn't do this before..... curious.

Try leaving off the http and the www
