I just finished my reading asignments. Along the way I found this guide on the reason why and how sex is to be used in erotica. The main point is that sex has to be integral and indisposable to the story development, otherwise it is just porn randomly thrown into a novel.

I'm currently writing a longer story and while reading the article I compared my own writing to the examples and at first I was all "Oh I did everything wrong". Then it began to fall into place and by the end I was all "On second thought, I did everything right! Damn I'm good!"

Really weird.

I remeber seeing this before. Do not necessarily agree with all the opinions, but I did enjoy reading it. A story can be erotic without it being integral to the plot. I have seen some things I thought were very erotic that had absolutely no sex in them.
