Happened across this site and thought I'd check it out. This is all so new but very interesting to me, and I have recently met a very interesting guy who is interested as well, sadly neither of us has any real practical experience so I'm hoping to pick up some tips here. Anyone with some advice for a couple of newbies out there?
Welcome to the forums!
It might be worth looking at 'Knowledge Base' and 'My BDSM Life' for some ideas.

*smiles* It is best to learn hands on as well of course! Although the Library Forums here has plenty of information that you can also think about. *winks*
But the most important thing in the beginning is to talk talk talk - communicate openly. Discuss what you both want, and take it as fast or as slow as you wish. Preferrably slow. Use safewords to assist you, I suggest you both should have them. If something that either of you are doing seems to be too much or you feel uncomfortable use a word that means STOP! Everything stops, then you two can discuss it and settle anything that may be in your minds. For example with Master and I, over time we used different stop words, red was used in the beginning, but now He and I respond to rain as my stop-right-now word, when He hears me say it He stops and holds me until i am calmer, then we talk about it.
I hope you both enjoy your time here with us, and learn all you can. In this life, you never stop learning. Each day is a new experience, and you both grow together as time passes.
If you need any help or someone to talk to send me a PM any time.
with love,
angel xx

Hey there and welcome to the board.
Thinks angel pretty much said it all actually, and thinks you will have alot of fun exploring each others mind. And if you do end up saying STOP, dont see it as a failure, more like a learning experiences allowing you both better knowledge of the other ones state of mind, and learning only brings closer, no?
If you need any help or someone to talk to you are welcome to send me a PM any time.
Enjoy the beautiful journey you have ahead of you
