Hello everyone, I am new here, but enjoying reading the posts – you are all such clever people! I have been writing poems for many years, and I wanted to share some of them with you because they are so special to me. It’s my first time, so please be gentle!

I wrote this poem for a very special man who was in my life a few years ago. He is no longer with me, but I remember him in writing and reading this poem, and I wanted his name to ring out through it. Thank you for reading :)

Refrain:Me

Oh, Wayne….

Strain me
Detain me
Restrain me
Cellophane me
Chain me
Cane me
Pain me
Sprain me
Stain me
Gain me

Oh, Wayne…

I’m losing my brain
But in my heart you remain.
I can’t abstain,
It’s not in vain.
Like the aeroplane
That took us to Spain
We soar to that plane
On Your disdain.
Lifting me like a crane,
Or a hurricane,
Or Novocaine,
Again and again:
You went like a train.
You Tarzan, me jane.

Oh, Wayne!

Dear Ms Sunlight

cariad alerted me to your rare talent and I can honestly say that I have only occasionaly seen anything like it.

I particularly like the imagery of "You went like a train.
You Tarzan, me jane"

It is primeval, yet somehow modern, too. With a hint of Chalfont (in his latter days, of course)

I look forward to more of the same.

Ed.
