after recently discovering that i have a 'tickling fetish' (i get very turned on whenever i tickle my boyfriend in bed, and had THOUGHTS about tying him down while tickling him)... i was told that this tickling fetish is actually quite a common thing among BDSM circles, since tickling is considered to be a light form of torture. Is this true?

I'm really surprised at this, since i've never considered myself being a BDSM, and I know my bf is definitely NOT into the scene. Anyways, other questions i have include bondage: what's considered "light bondage"? and for anal sex... not sure if this is fact or fiction but do only BDSMs practice anal sex?

Tickling is fetish. People that are not “BDSM”ers can get excited by certain fetishes like for example shoes.

BDSM stands for:
BD Bondage and Domination
DS Domination and Submission
SM Sadism and Masochism
There is many different fetishes, types of play, level of play and intensities people can get involved in. Light bondage would be anything from tying up your boyfriend to a bed post with your used stocking and or tying his eyes with your scarf to going in public with “rope bra” underneath you favourite, loose sweatshirt.

No, not only BDSMers have anal sex – vanilla couples do to.

1. I love tickling.

2. I heard somewhere that if you can name it, someone has a fetish for it.

I'm gonna agree with Neopadinski, if there's a name, there's a fetish. Oh and not only BDSM ppl like anal sex. Trust me... There are tons of people who are really into it. Some girls I know (who wouldn't do ANYTHING bdsm related) will only have anal.

I agree, anal is not restricted to BDSMers. I belong to a parenting group on ezboards and there was actually a poll on anal sex. 9 out of ten responses were to the fact that they have done, and will do, anal sex again.

Also, just because one has a fetish does not mean one is into BDSM.

I've heard of people with fetishes for...

-the sight of large quantities of food
-women's vomit (he'd take baths in the stuff...not my kind of turnon, but people are people)
-Feet (ooh baby, lemme lick those toes...*ahem* sorry bout that...)
-Overweight women (a common one)

You know what? I'd love to have a hand fetish. It's difficult because I only like the bottoms of female feet, but if I liked hands, well then I run around with a jolly olly in my pants for 24/7.

I'm a firm believer in "to each his own" but women's vomit!!! UUUhhgg...

And to address the original post, I agree with the other responses that tickling falls under the category of a fetish.

Handcuff him, tickle him and then beat him stupid with a riding crop...now THATS BDSM!!

Nightstriker, every time you log in, you can look to the top right hand corner of the main forums page and there will be a link "view new posts". You can click on that and if there has been a new post in this thread, then it'll come up in the search. You could also subscribe to the thread so that you get an email notice when someone posts a reply to the thread.

Actually, Red Eva, BDSM stands for Bondage, Discipline, Sadism & Masochism. Believe me! D&S or Domination and Submission came a lot later.

Early bdsm writing focused a lot on discipline, but tickling was certainly a popular element. Tickling a helpless women is certainly a kind of torture.

The discipline part of B&D (Bondage & Discipline) became known as flagellation, but it was also known as CP (Corporal Punishment). This was a big sector of the publications market. Snuff literature was categorised as 'Hard Flag' or Hard Flagellation, and included torture, mostly Mf.

CP involved spanking, also punishment with the kinds of implement that were used on schoolchildren in Victorian times, such as the cane, the tawse and many other implements still used in B&D today. Mainly on the bottom, but also on the soles of the feet (podiatric stimulation). There were (and still are) a lot of photos of reddened bottoms. Riding whips are used a lot in pony girl scenarios.

There were adult magazines specialising in tickling.

i think red was probably just trying to help out the person who started the thread with some of the 'terms' associated with the scene...D/s being one of them, regardless of whether it came first or not....and D/s does stand for domination and submission. (mmmmm, yum...er, ooops, sorry! LOL) :D
