View Full Version : The Well-Dressed Dom

I've always found clothing for a male dom to be somewhat...lacking. Women of any role have a thousand yummy things available, and subboys look nice in collars, leather straps and cbt devices, but most dominant men I've seen -- both at clubs and in porn -- look a bit ridiculous, or simply under dressed. The best I've really come across is boots, jeans or leathers, and a black shirt...but what else looks good? What do you dream of seeing a Master wearing while you submit? What's sexy, useful, or just plain domly?

I don't like men naked during play, but a nice pair of slacks, preferably black, and a button down shirt, gives a man an air of confidence without the stiffness of a suit, but I also like it for a man to be in boxer briefs, and his button down shirt open, so I can kiss and touch everywhere I want....

Well, I kind of have thing for tight, crotchless, leather pants or, out in public, the same pants with a leather cod piece. Only, please, no socks stuffed down the front! *gg*

Otherwise on the more conservative side, yes, a nice black shirt and boots always looks kind of dommish doesn't it?

Domly? Nicely put.

Umm, My Dom usually will dress in a button down shirt, jeans, and shoes (not sneakers). Underneath He sometimes has a black undershirt. I love to picture Him leaving his shirt unbuttoned and untucked- better movement. Kind of a relaxed professional, point of authority look. Then if He gets real worked up, He could just remove it. The appearance of the black undershirt vs. white appeals more to me.

Honestly, though - so long as He's comfortable I'm happy.

Black undershirt, black utilikilt, and black combat-type boots.

Yummers!

Conservative / really worn: Black leather trousers, black leather shoes (either regular shoes or his cowboy boots), black half-sleeved shirt with a few of the upper buttons open...

Fantasy: Dressed like a Viking (he has the size, looks and the hair for it), preferrably enacting a rape scene and dragging me off, me fighting and screaming.
The funny thing here is that my best gay friend said: "If your hubby was mine and gay, he would have to dress like a Viking and swing a sword around while taking me, and oh yeah it would be very important that he would grunt like an animal during it." LOL

Apart from that, I generally love the Live Role Play costumes of the Medieval era - something black with a cape.

I do admit that I find the way men dress in our culture nowadays very, very lacking, boring, and unattractive. Thatīs both valid for jeans/shirts and business suits. Just not my thing.
I donīt like them to look so domesticated and tame.
Can we please go back to the Romans, at least?

Oh - The Glare.

Yeah.

Nothing else really matters at that point...

*shakes herself* Where was I?

OK: so, I find the whole leather thing a total turn-off. It smacks to me of 'If I dress up right, I'll know how to be a dom'. So - I like smart-casual. Sometimes seriously smart can be very, very exciting - the full DJ etc. - or an extremely well cut suit - as long as 'The Domly Air' is there... Then again - sometimes really scraggy jeans and a ripped T-shirt can do it, too... So overall, I think really, as long as he is clothed, and he looks like he belongs in his clothes and is confident and at ease with himself - then that does it for me.

*drools* DEFINITELY a nice black button up shirt, black pants, nice black shoes and The Glare... works for meeeeeee.....

Maybe a banded collar for that shirt? Both severe yet "fatherly"?

I was approached by several women in the grocery store the other day... dressed all in black. "Father? May I have a word?"

Oh if I only had a "black van" and an abeyance of reality.

Unless you happen to ride a motorcycle... in which case it looks very appropriate. I get to wear my leathers in very mundane, very vanilla situations... and I can tell you there's certainly an appreciation of the look from all the supposedly vanilla women.

I like just wearing jeans or jeans and a white or black tshirt. works just fine but I normally let her remove my clothing after a while if she is not "tied up" :D

I don't have a lot to say about particular clothes right now...but just the fact that he's fully dressed while I'm fully naked...that most definitely flips one (or more) of my submissive internal switches. Makes me feel very vulnerable. In the nicest, most shivery way. :)

My knees turn to jello over a sophisticated look.

Brooks Brothers suit, trousers held up by a very fine Italian leather belt, (all the better to spank me with) a silk shirt and tie (monochromatic), calf-high socks so that when he sits I don't see leg and, of course, the finest leather shoes (polished to perfection by moi) preferably lace-up (picturing myself naked and kneeling before him, slowly untying those laces; blushing when my eyes rise to meet his and...) OMG *fanning self

Needless to say he must be clean-shaven and meticulously barbered and manicured.

hehehe. But then there's the "save a horse and ride a cowboy" look too that leaves me panting. And, oh, the motocycle look makes me swoon, not to mention 17th century attire and...

Oh never mind.

Oh, same here, jeanne. This is one of my absolute favorite things. My master is a t-shirt and jeans person, which is fine with me. I like it best when he's dressed for work in a suit, though. There's just something sexy about professional dress.

In drag. I realize that this is a very unusual taste, but screw usual. :)

Aside from that, the jacket-hanging-open-over-bare-chest look is mega-hot if he has the body for it. Pants, tight but not too tight. Shoes rather than boots, but solid ones. Maybe a necklace too... nothing fancy or femme, just a plain thin chain or something. Or a tattoo could work in place of the necklace... think Spider Jerusalem. Mmm.

It's all a matter of persona and setting. Personally I'm one of those people who falls over giggling at the fetish look for Dommes, so I don't really mind the lack of official Dom wear (YKINMKBYKIO, I know, I know...), but anything borrowing from male positions that are considered naturally dominant or dangerous works. If I were a man I'd go for the overly polished buttons + fop look, like a proper deadly, but not in the least bit brutish, cavalry officer.

But save me from the black leather vests.

If I ever get my husband to wear black leather pants, I will die happy. :D Put really, I would settle for anything somewhat tight and show-offy. He has such a gorgeous body but he absolutely refuses to show it off and make all the other ladies jealous of me. *pout*

i agree completely unless they are on a harley then no leather. and even then i still find the smart casual look or the ripped jeans and a black tight teeshirt much hotter than the leather look.

just a simple shirt and trousers for me,i prefer dressed to undressed in play not overly sure why but i think that's because it just gives me that extra bit more feeling of vulnerability that im naked or almost in some 'helpless' position or another and he's looking casual and as though he could just walk out the door at anytime.

i have to confess while it can look sexy on some men in play im not keen on the 'Domly' look, everyone walking round in black shirts, boots, leather trousers, long coats and walking canes it smacks a of lack of originality and wearing the standard 'Dom uniform'

The reason that there are no specific clothes for Doms is because Doms are men and rarely therefore 'do' this whole clothes thing if given a free choice. Sub men are often dressed by their Mistresses or ordered to care about dress (and some are TV so sort of gain the woman ability to dress), sub women are still women who therefore know how to dress. Doms, however, are men with no one able to tell them what to wear so they default to the male 'I'll wear what is comfortable and damn it I am not spending more than 10 minutes in a shop trying things on' :)

Seriously, it is one of my major rants about how there is relatively less variety for men than there is for women, certainly in terms of 'party wear', 'business wear' or 'formal wear'. Woman have a choice of a plethora of dresses, skirts, tops in a multitude of colours. Men have suits or DJs for formal or business wear. T shirts and shirts are an option for more casual parties. Even variety like 'sports jackets' are just suits by another name.

So, Doms also have less choice than women.

However, heres an option not already mentioned for the 'working Dom' (I think) - riding gear. Very smart, quite formal looking, big boots, leather gloves, whip optional. Its already a classic for Dommes so why not Doms?

Like all the various roleplay options mentioned above. Have I mentioned that I have an entire shed full of LRP costume? Was never aware that I could post photos of me in that to a BDSM site and have women consider me a Dom LOL
