I had a friend — just a friend, honest! — and, for some reason, I have found myself thinking about something she said concerning her capacity to submit to her Mistress.

she was, I have to say, not meek! In fact, through a curious twist of fate (called corporate rationalisation/redundancy), she found herself not only her Mistress’ landlady but also her boss, having found the said unemployed Mistress a job as a waitress at the wine-bar where she worked.

What my friend said about her submission was: “If the bitch didn’t make me giggle, I’d bash her!”, by which I gather she meant that, as a self-confessed humiliation-slut, she was happy to suffer embarrassments beyond blushing and obey even her Mistress’ most unreasonable demands, simply because her Mistress had the knack of using her acute and yet deeply wicked sense of humour to make it mutually enjoyable.

It’s hard to put into words but, if you saw them together, you’d understand. Mistress would say DO! Her slave/maid would coyly say “No, I can’t! What here? Now?” and then do it. Then they’d both grin at each other as though sharing some private joke and frequently burst out laughing. I gather the bar-regulars, ignorant of the reasons for their good humour, nicknamed them “The Giggle Sisters”. You get the picture!

My question is, does anyone else use humour in that way? Has anyone found that humour (as in, laughing with not at) has made their submission easier?

I’m curious because I like mine happy (I miss hearing their laughter) and really don’t understand those who say that, to be serious about what I/we do, I’m supposed to wander round with a face like a wet weekend.

Thoughts? Opinons? Experiences?

Oh, goodness yes, humor is so necessary. It is the best release of tension (save a climax) and I think the bonds you build around laughter are much stronger than any chains.

Happy subs are eager subs. We need them to help us not take ourselves too seriously.

I not only tease my slave but I allow her to laugh about me with me, if I think it night have been a little to long I simply put her over my knee and give a very long pleasure spanking.

God what would any life be with a lot of humor, wait I can answer that short and damn boring.

Honestly? I think the secret of a great D/s union (or any relationship for that matter) may just be that the Dom and the sub spend a lot of time just freaking laughing! Really...just look at it. Sex alone is pretty darn funny. Life can totally suck, but is bearable if one can laugh. My late husband I laughed a lot with black humor because of his illness because black humor still beats black depression. At the risk of getting a huge ***groan*** laughter truly is the BEST medicine. "Peace" ~blizz!

Studies have shown that laughter is the best medicine even if it is forced laughter the body gets rid of stress if it is real laughter a lot more.

I laugh at myself at others and love comedy because it is meant to cause laughter

If you can not laugh...you have nothing.

S1 and I are always laughing at something. could be something really stupid and insignificant. it makes us who we are

laughter is really important for me too. I would go as far as to call it a necessity for me and the sub I am with.
I love making people laugh and I am not always that serious or just Dom. I aim to be their best friend and companion aswell as the Dom.

So that chunk of the UK scene that says I and mine aren’t miserable enough to be doing this for real are wrong? Gosh! And there I was thinking they’d awarded themselves the title of ‘Master’ because they had unravelled the secrets of Life, the Universe & Everything!

How silly of me! I knew there was a reason I get on better with non-British slaves and plan to take mine to France just as soon as I can get them back into Europe.

I never did find out what made “The Giggle Sisters” giggle quite as much as they did though. They really were the model of discretion and it even took me a good while to work out they were ‘playing’ while they worked.

At first, I did wonder if it had something to do with batteries, buzzing noises and the slave/maid always needing to literally run to the lavatory, clearly in very urgent need, but …

Well, they did join me for a drink once, at the end of their shift, and I remember the Mistress saying how much they both liked German white wine and how elegantly slender the bottles were. I remember them sharing a bottle while we talked.

Then they both started grinning and giggling and … Well, I admit that I was pretty drunk at the time, but I don’t remember anyone clearing the table, is the thing.. I just noticed the still half-full bottle wasn’t there anymore and them both giggling and saying they needed the loo.

I remember thinking it a little odd when the Mistress asked for a napkin on her return and then proceeded to dab her lips dry while her slave/maid flushed crimson but …

So no long-faces required then? I am so pleased! *SMILE*

no long faces required at all, and that is something that really pleases me.

There was a thread a while back started by a former member, Uncle Ed, on this subject, but I'll be darned if I can track it down.

It is proven beyond doubt that laughter is the "best medicine." We, as adults, seem to either forget how to laugh or fear being deemed silly. But "children laugh about 300 times a day, and adults laugh 20 times less than children do. After 50 years of living, the laughing time of a person has declined from 18 to six minutes a day."

Perhaps I'm a child at heart, because I can always find something to laugh about. And like Logic, there is no better medicine for me than to hear others laughing.

Nothing wrong with being a child at heart. I think we all are, deep down. It's just that most of us aren't brave enough to admit it.

Or, as my late mother used to say: "When the child in you dies, you die as a person". I think there's a lot of truth in that.

I liked the incomplete thought by the way. That made me smile :)

One of the many, many things i love about my Man is his goofy sense of humor. He is child-like...not to be confused w/ child-ish. He told me this morn He wants us to play "Super Dom & His submissive sidekick, spank-me girl"

Always happy to make someone smile. And as to your mother - methinks she was a wise woman. ~smiles~

hehehe - and you'll ride in the side car on his Domocycle. Of course if he were child-ish you'd have to ride on the handlebars of his tricycle.
