Craft a scene/chapter/story that begins with the following line.
Barbara's eyes were wide with shock. She swallowed hard, but still her voice came out in a strangled croak, "Could you say that again? I must have heard you wrong."

No...no...I'm still here and haven't forgotten about you. I've spent most of the Christmas hols marking exam papers (it pays the bills) but I promise I'll get round to writing something very soon...honest

You're fine. i'd rather wait for something, than have you force yourself to write it and be distracted and do a half-way job. That is how crap flambe is born.
