Waxing or depilatory?

I'm writing a story. In one of my scenes, I'm having the female's body hair (except eyebrows) removed. For the pubic area, would waxing make that area more sensitive or make it less sensitive to touch or pain?

Waxing makes it more sensitive for a while unless done wrong then it becomes a painful area
