I figured that, since there were so many threads in these forums, navigating them all could become a little confusing, especially when someone is looking for something specific. So, I have decided to begin a thread to put all the most popular thread subjects in the same place at the same time to make them a little easier for members, new and old alike, to find.

There are several topics, it seems, that hve sprouted several threads, but not all the threads are similar enough to be merged by moderators to form a comprehensive, concise thread on the subject.

So, without further procrastination, here's the list:

This is an incomplete list. I will add more to it, perhaps, later, but I don't want to exceed message length.

If anyone can think of any categories I haven't thought of, post them here. Also, if there are ay other threads that I may have missed that belong in the above categories, please let me know in a reply to this thread.

Thanks. :)

Uhhhhh you may not have noticed this and perhaps it is new, but when you are in a thread, if you scrill down to the very bottom, there is a box that says "Similar Threads" For this thread in particular it has 3 matches.

Bringing Old THreads Back to Life
Deleting Threds (and posts)
Moving Threads

I just happened to notcie when I scrolled all the way down for something completely unrealted.

if you scrill down

...yes, but what happens if you scroll down?? :D

Only joking! That is a good feature actually, especially if you are new or looking for something pretty specific.

If you cross reference the age of most of the repeated threads you will find that they have not been posted to in over a year and they are in the very far reaches of a title pool of unlooked at thread's that should have been deleted by (who ) the Moderators
Sugestion for a new Rule if it has not been looked at in say 6 months then it is gone. or atleast archived to a CD/Tape

And if it is important then some Genius will no dought say it again.

you know what forget what I said Im sorry, I let my curmuging powers get loose again forget it. I am just being a jerk that got called away from a movie to fix a problem on Ebay and got ticked off for no reason :[

Topic drift aside, this was a good idea, Tourguide. I expect it will prove very handy.

*builds big and tall barricade, puts on full armour*
How about merging some of those realy similar threads into one? Like all about "Story of O".
*runs behind the barricade and puts the earplugs in respective holes*

Ahh! now THAT would be a decision for the moderators to make. Since many of these similar threads appear in subforums moderated by different people, that would require the moderators to get together to make the decisions on whether or not to do it and where the merged threads should be placed.

Hmm...

It's happened before, us moderators getting together. We're not all dictators, sitting on our forums and having the weapons trained on all the others! *steps aside, camera moving away from the sand-bags and mounted machine guns*

Seriously though, I think it's fine to keep the old threads where they are. Unless there's two threads on exactly the same topic, keep them seperate :)

i agree LD.

i think that even threads that are similar in subject are often different in content, style or contributions from different sorts of people, which is what makes them interesting to read.

Also, in terms of merging, given that in longer threads many of the responses are sequential, i think it would become extremely difficult to merge them, whislt retaining any sense in them.
