I had some questions about what type of rope to use. ok i think what i really need to explain is first off i understand there are many types of rope and for different things. so the question then is for suspension type rope play, i use a thicker Nylon rope about 5/8" that way i know that it will be able to support one, two and sometime three people. but really is that my best choice?

then i guess my next question would be i use the same rope for just our normal play, and its bulk. so what would be a good rope for non-suspension play? i am not sure if it matters but current type is again Nylon diamond braided.

any help would be greatly accepted.

thanks

For non, nonspension play, the sugestion i keep getting is to use plain old cheep clothline rope that you can get at any Wal-Mart type store. As for suspension, I have never played in this area, so I would not hazard a guess there.

It's really a matter of feel as far as type of rope is concerned. Most people, even if they buy online, will test-feel different rope types and brands against their skin at the local hardware, home improvement, or home and ranch store first.

wow, gotta copy that link inventory. Thanks ID!

Thin plastic cords are not useful anyway, the really bad thing about those is that with the wrong kinds of knot it gets almost impossible to undo, it just tightens and feels like one rope twisted around if you know what I mean (and can't be torn apart either). Hemp and strong nylon are much better, and feel better.

Rope depends on its usage. If suspension is your fortay then nothing less than 5/8" for safety reasons, also use a hemp or high braid what you don't want to happen is a 'stretching' of the rope during suspension. For other rope "play" it depends on "what" lol your tying up. Different sizes for different tasks.

I've got flag-line. The rope used to hoist flags. It's pretty soft.
