So, I was at a goth club with my girl and we were making out and playing around a little, and a somewhat older man came up to us and handed me a flyer for a local munch. Then he said something to me that sounded like "us microbiologists have to stick together."

I got the gist of it, but now I'm curious -- is that a commonly used euphemism for BDSMers? Something from back in the day when people had to be a bit more discreet?

well...i dont know if there is a connection between microbiologists and BDSM...

But on the whole there aren't a lot of microbiologists running around......and if there kinky then that narrows the field even more...

Only when I was working in a microbiology lab... and I am pretty sure the people who were actually microbiologists in that lab (I have degrees in biomedical science and immunology but not microbiology) did not spend their time tying each other up for course credit... :)

Wierd comment. You sure he didn't say something else and you misheard it because of background noise or something? Or maybe he mistook you for someone he knew who was a microbiologist?

Were you looking at some part of her body through a microscope when he said that?

If you go, ask him what he actually said. It's probably a hoot.

Like misunderstanding song lyrics.

Maybe he is from some human genome project...

Sounds strange and I have never heard it before but lol why not. Not like you introduce yourself amongst new people with saying "Hie, My name is Marcus and I am a BDSMer" so :p
