View Full Version : Advice re rope bondage

I've been playing around with various ties on myself lately (being single) and I'm having problems with a frogtie. Although the ropes do not feel over tight (at least compared with other ties), I seem to be tieing my self too tightly as I'm either cutting off circulation or hitting nerve endings (feelings of numbness in my legs, red marks (not rope marks, probably bruising) and slight pain the day after). I am following the advice of tieing losely then cinching to tighten things up. Should I be taking betting care of rope placement when tieing rope round the upper thigh? Or am I just being too tight? Can a frogtie be made at all comfortable, or is it inherently painful?

(Before I get told off for self-bondage, I shall point out I'm not securing my wrists!)

Thanks

Well I know absolutely zero about tying and have no interest in self bondage but wondered if maybe the type of material your rope is made out of might be some of the problem??

It's poly-somethingorother, sold as "bondage rope". I have only ever had problems tying ankle to thigh - ankle-ties and above-knee-ties have been fine, even when tied as tight as possible.

(It's all just practice for when I find my next willing partner! :P)

I prefer braided cotton rope myself- & actually did spend many years tying myself up before losing interest. If you throw the rope in a washing machine before use, it softens it somewhat.

Wrap the rope neatly, each strand next to each other, firm but not tight. Then tie a reef knot & cinch it up. Practice makes perfect.

You can also buy cheap leather collars from pet shops or discount stores.

I wouldn't even know what a frogtie is, but my girl says to sit on a cushion.

Just for the record- there's nothing wrong with tying your wrists- just make real sure you can get free....

what rope are you using? cotton might be easier to begin with although jute once cleaned and softened is for some people a bit easier for ties, and what width? 6-8 mm is best probably 6 to start with.
only do 2-3 wraps to begin with. make sure the rope doesnt twist or move while you are working, the best way of judging tightness is to ensure once tied you can comfortably put 2 fingers between your skin and the rope.
a bit like judging shoe sizes lol and keep things simple.

its always a safe bet to learn a little about your body, where tendons, muscles nerves etc are situated.

its also be a good idea to check out links for self bondage vids and tutorials, though good ones can be a bit harder to find.
