Ever wonder about the real person on the other side of the computer screen? Personally, I cannot stand the agony of not knowing! So, a few months ago I planned a visit to a fellow Librarian. We'd talked enough times that I felt comfortable about the visit.
As the date came closer, I received a call to offer that I stay at the person's house instead of getting a hotel room. Without hesitating, I accepted the offer. However, looking back I realize that had I accepted from anyone else, this very friend would have ripped me a new one!! LOL I was fortunate enough to have met a few wonderful people when I entered into this online world. They were quick to give me safety tips and share some of their personal experiences, so I felt confident in my decision.
Thrall was one of those people and happened to be the person I visited! She has been my offensive and defensive guard since day one! We may not agree on everything, but we respect one another's views and opinions and I consider her my friend! She's proved to be one of the most generous people I've ever known. She's extremely loyal and I know that no matter the distance she will always be there for me!!
This trip held many firsts for me. I've been flying, literally, since I was 6 weeks old, but never alone. In fact, I've never traveled alone whether it was business or pleasure. Not only that, but I was going to a place I'd never been, San Francisco, and meeting someone for the first time without knowing what she looked like! She was waiting at the airport when my flight landed and we recognized one another immediately!
Something to note about Thrall: She doesn't drive! That may seem all fine and good, except that I am a terrible driver in a small town! Imagine me driving in a big city! The horror! Thrall didn't even flinch! Although, she insisted that I would have to parallel park at some point during my visit. NOT! I spent quite a bit of money on parking so I didn't have to!! My predictions during high school drivers' ed came true! Even though I could parallel park, I wouldn't do it.......EVER! And what do you know? After almost 20 years of driving, no parallel parking!!! But I digress........
Thrall is the proud parent of 4 extremely spoiled cats! They are the most cuddly felines I've ever met! They would go from my bed to hers at night sleeping with us. Apparently, they felt the need to spread their love! One of them got a bit frustrated with me when I put him out of the tub where he was enjoying a drink from the faucet that his mommy had set for him. Other than that, we all got along quite well!
The first evening there, Thrall had planned for us to attend a munch. (Another first!!) A very lovely older gentlemen sat next to me at the restaurant and we immediately struck up a conversation. Turned out he was a submissive like me. Woohoo!!! He told me how he came into the lifestyle, and I shared a bit of my story with him. I felt so relaxed and comfortable to be talking to such a sweet "old" man! We were swapping fantasy stories when midsentence at one point, he proclaimed, "You're hot!" I could have fallen out of my chair! It was such an unexpected statement.
After the munch we walked to The Power Exchange for a play party. Neither Thrall nor I had any intention of playing at said party. We just wanted to look around the place and see what kinds of play were going on. The gentleman from the munch remained friendly and wonderful, but kept trying to convince me to Domme him!!! I insisted that the very things he wanted me to do to him, I wanted done to me!! It was quite comical!
I wish there had been a hidden camera installed that night! Wherever Thrall and I walked there was a crowd of men that followed. I just pretended not to notice. (Playing "blonde" has its advantages!) Inside the BDSM dungeon area there were a few male Doms that worked pretty hard at getting me to play with them. Again, I played the part of the ditzy blonde! I didn't know any of these men or anyone that could have recommended them, so there was no way I would have played with them! One Dom was so persistent that he finally took Thrall aside and asked her if he could "have" me in a private room! He thought she was my Domme! LMAO (Told you she was my guard!) She didn't even try to correct him! She simply said no!!! We got a pretty good laugh out of that!
The next morning we met Euryleia (Yay! Another Librarian!!!) for breakfast at Sears Fine Foods!! After talking "shop" with her and learning her views on first meetings and play, I realized how unfortunate it was that I was straight!!! I found Euryleia to be smart, witty, knowledgeable of the lifestyle, and beautiful! If only I could find that in male form.........Although, she did inform me that she has a quota to meet "for her people" and would be happy to take recruits!!! LOL Anyway, this was a another example of how awesome so many of these online people truly are! I keep referring to this as our kinky fellowship!!!
Thrall and I visited toy shops and leather stores and made giant wish lists! We made a few purchases, though. I've included a couple of pics of mine. Thrall found it amusing that I wanted the pink leather. I keep pointing out to everyone that I'm an innocent angel and pink is an appropriate color choice for me!!! She must agree because she sent me a beautiful pink leather wrist cuff bracelet that matches perfectly!
The trip wasn't all about lifestyle. She took me EVERYWHERE! Which serves to prove that making friends from the lifestyle doesn't mean that the entire basis of the relationship be only BDSM. It just makes it so much better to be able to speak freely about being bound and gagged with someone you've spent the day shopping and lunching with!!!
I won't argue that there are predators out there posing as nice normal human beings, but as long as we take the necessary safety precautions, why not meet others? We serve as proof for one another that there is nothing "wrong" with us!!
