The April prose contest is over and here is the original story that I wrote.....mistakenly thinking that the requirements for "the bet" was 1000 words.......:eek::eek::eek::eek:......
So here is the long version.........lol
The Bet.
"I bet that girl at the end of the bar is the loneliest girl here," I said with a knowing smile. "And she's coming home with me tonight."
"Your wrong, Ross, she's the most popular girl I've ever seen coming into this place. Look at her, she's not lonely. She's always the center of attention, and loves every minute of it." Jason said, winking and raising his glass to her. "You don't stand a chance in hell with her."
The bar was crowded as ever, filled with the cream of the business district, here to relax after a hard days work, all more then willing to cozy up to a pretty girl and have a few laughs.
We had been watching her for weeks now, her charming smiles and flashing eyes. The sound of her easy laughter and self assured confidence filled the room. We watched the throng of men around her, always touching her, a hand on her shoulder or around her waist, a finger stroking her arm, nothing overt but always there. She never seemed to object, but never responded either. She was a dichotomy of fire and ice.
"Want to bet on that one Jason? Not only do I stand a chance with her, but I bet she leaves here tonight with me."
"She's never left with anyone before, my friend, so you're on! How about a case of that wine you love so much. What's it called?"
"Dominus 84, and I'll hold you to that, Jason"
I waited for the plebeian throng of suits to thin before walking up behind her. Standing close enough to feel and smell the heat of her skin, I waited a heartbeat before moving next to her, placing my hand on the bar just millimeters form hers. This was the closest I had ever been to her and I could feel the electric jolt, could almost see the spark of life, passing between us.
"Hello Jessica," I growled into her ear. "It's lonely being beautiful isn't it?"
She didn't move but I could tell that every nerve in her body fired. She flushed as her breathing quickened.
"I've watched them touch you for weeks now, Jessica, and not one of them really touches you do they?" I said as she sat up a bit straighter.
"They touch your body but you're really miles away, aren't you?" My lips grazed her chestnut hair, as the warmth of my breath heated her neck. "I however intend to touch you in places you've never dreamed possible."
Moving around to her other ear I whispered in slow metered breaths, "Tell me Jessica,… do you… want to be …touched. Do you….want me…to touch you?"
She closed her eyes as I saw the goose flesh spread up her arms as a small shiver run through her body.
"Yes," She said in an almost inaudible whisper.
"Look at me Jessica."
She turned her body before slowly turning her face, bringing her eyes up to meet mine. Her green eyes were glistening and slightly dilated. I held her gaze until she nervously dropped her eyes to the floor.
Yes I thought, she feels my touch now. Not the insipid pawing she's used to getting here. I knew she felt me stroking her at the core of her very essence, the part of her that was alive. I saw that plainly in the burning hunger of her eyes.
"Spread you legs." I said caressingly.
There was a slight hesitation before she slowly spread her legs wide. I stepped in closer, between her shapely legs, and brought my lips to within an inch of hers. I saw confusion in her face, with a touch of fear. I loved the way it made her look, innocent and vulnerable.
"You felt that touch, now didn't you girl, and I haven't even laid a finger on you" I said grinning at her. "Now tell me what you want. You need you to say it. I want to hear you… beg me."
"Please…I" she said in a whispered stammer, humiliation deepening the already rosy blush on her cheeks and neck to crimson. "Please… please touch me. I need to be…touched."
Without saying a word I held out my hand. Jessica had to want this for herself; she had to reach for me. There was no thought in her movement as she placed her hand in mine. The touch of her skin was like live fire burning my skin, and from the look in her eyes, I knew she felt the same.
I reached out, taking her by the wrist, I could feel her pulse quickening beneath my fingers Her body tensed and relaxed all in one fluid movement. Without saying a word, without taking my eyes from her face, I took off my tie and slowly wrapped it around one wrist, then the other, holding her in my control. Both of us were oblivious and uncaring that others in the bar were now staring at us in amazement, including Jason.
"I'm going home now Jessica, you may come with me if you wish, it's still up to you. If you want to stay I'll untie you." I said gently.
She didn't say anything, just slowly nodded her head. I steadied her as she slid off the high bar chair. Unable to use her hands, Jessica's skirt pulled high up on her legs as she stood up, showing lace toped stockings. I smiled at her embarrassment, the need for help in such a simple thing, as I pulled the soft fabric down to where it belonged. She picked up her small bag and I draped her jacket through her arms, covering her still bound wrists.
All the men stood in aw of what they had just witnessed, disbelief and lust plainly written on their faces.
Walking past the tightest group of men on the way out, I stopped and held Jessica with me.
"Take the head gentlemen, and the body will always follow. Not the other way around."
