Well to start I'm young only about half way into my twentieth year of this life. (So annoying getting others to buy me alcohol:rolleyes:) I have already finish college though an am working right now but I'm in southern Florida and before that it was Vermont where though liberal there wasn't much in terms of a bdsm scene, same for down here. So seeing as I am young and have a career that allows me freedom to some extent to move I wanted to know if anyone could suggest any locations larger cities or towns that have a larger bdsm scene beyond San Francisco (which is too expensive) I just wanted to get an idea as to where to I might live that has more of a scene.

Minneapolis/St. Paul has a very active scene. I've been twice to a munch that has over 100 attendees each month. There are public play parties. munches every week, many many private play parties and lots of outdoor camping trips and BBQs in the summertime. If you can stand the cold and snow, this is a great area for kinky people. PM me if you'd like to know more.

Cant help you out with where to live, but can tell you stay away from this region of Upstate NY. The nearest munches are held hours from here and the nearest adult store is an hour or better ride. Besides this area is full of those who base their lives on judging others. Definately NOT the place to be for those involved in the lifestyle. LOL!!Good luck with your search.

Atlanta has allways had a pretty good scene, even if my owner and i didnt attend very many functions there,, Charleston sc was amazingly busy in the bdsm world several yrs ago i dont know if it is still, tampa had a cool as all get out goth scene with some bdsm elements on the side and my masters friend goes around down by miami a lot but he hasnt said much about the scene,, of course japan had an awsome scene, my master got to see way more of it than me, i was in high school when i was there, good luck with your search, its tough most of my time in bdsm has been behind the scenes so to speak, we kinda made our own thing where ever we were and or attended private functions not nessesaraly part of the main stream

London and Amsterdam are widely seen as the capitals of kink. Berlin is also a contender. I recommend staying clear of USA all together if you want to be in contact with a vibrant BDSM sex scene.

Sweden isn't great, but at least it's only a short plane ride to the heart of the action.

I had to leave San Francisco (which I adore) 'cuz it was too expensive, so for now I'm living in Seattle, which is sort of the next best thing. There's a pretty good BDSM scene here I think, though it's a tilted a bit towards older folks than you or me.

London one of the capitals of kink? Glad to hear we get some respect out there in the wide world still. :) Mind you, I know that anything kinky used to be referred to as 'English style' by prostitutes so we obviously have had some impact :)

It has been my experience that most places in the west have some form of kink lifestyle nearby. You just generally have to find it and they often hide. You may be better off picking a selection of places you want to live/can afford to live and posting these and asking if anyone on here lives there. Getting an intro into the local scene before you move is a good idea, I feel.

My gauge is the cities with the biggest kinky parties in them. And the most advanced and big budget. And things like hotels that cater specifically for BDSM customers. Just compare the prevalence of things like it. London and Amsterdam wins by a mile. I wouldn't know what other method of measurement to use. I suspect that all people and cultures are about as pervy, so the only difference between them is how open they are. I'm basically saying that, the more open a society is about BDSM the more active and vibrant will the scene be. The bigger the parties, the more people interested in it. London and Amsterdam are the two cities most Europeans go to if they want to go to a good BDSM party. I go to Rubberball each year and I meet plenty of US citizens, who do nothing but complain about the scene where they come from compared to London....and that includes New York.

I know New York has got plenty good parties, and so has Tokyo has plenty of good parties. I hear a lot about Sidney, but I can't recall any specific party being mentioned, it's more like "Sidney rocks"... so it could be simple local patriotism.

All I can say is that I love living in the Seattle area. It doesn't get better than Washington and the northwet, I mean northwest.

Seattle is AWESOME!! Not sure about the scene there... but one of my favorite places to be. :)

And Jeanne was right... Mpls/StPaul is a mostly safe place to live, with a largely accepting population of alternative lifestyles.

Seattle has a very active scene. Lived there 12 years. The city can be expensive, but there are lots of less expensive addresses not very far away at all.

Don;t forget to visit your candidate(s) before you move! Let us know what you find.
