submissive positions

Hey all,

since W/we are all here to learn, I thought it might come in handy to post some kind of tutorial on a very basic thing in our lifestyle... submissive positions.

I'm happy to announce subgirl as the model in this 'tutorial'... she has been practicing and improving her position skills together with Me, and has now taken pics of them all to help other subs to do the same.

as most of U/us know there are different purposes for a sub to be in a position.

since I'm working with female subs only, I've made up the positions for them... I'm sure that most of them can be used on male subs too... might require a bit of practice though (for both genders)

Presentation

In this case the sub is placed in the position in which a Dom can have a good look at the sub. This is the type of positions W/we mainly hear about on auctions. When holding these positions, the Dom can also want to inspect the sub at that moment, which means (s)he has to hold the position while being inspected physically by the Dom.

Waiting

Another purpose for a sub to be put into a certain position is to wait for the next thing to happen... for example, You as Dom(me) get a phonecall, then you can put Your sub in a waiting/holding position as shown below by subgirl.


The Dom(me) can also combine waiting positions with a slight form of punishment - although there are other (harder) positions to use as punishment. To use the waiting positions as punishment, You can just tell Your sub to "wait" with his/her nose against a wall, and with speech restriction. As I said, it's a form of punishment which isn't too hard - physically - but it will leave mental marks... and it will be kept in mind for quite some time.

Objectification

I know, not everyone is in favour of this subject... but for those who like it, some positions You can use to make Your sub into some objects...

(assuming W/we all like it)

Imagine You're having friends coming over for a party, and You're not having enough tables... no problem... a well trained sub might be of service (as usual ;) )

Imagine You're having friends over for a dinner with candlelight... not enough candelabras (if I remember correctly that's the proper word in English)... again, a well trained sub might be useful here.

Underneath you can find some examples in which subgirl demonstrates the purpose of those positions.

the first three positions are the table ones... it takes some effort to make sure not to drop anything put on it.

the candelabra is shown in pics 4 and 5... the sub is then told to hold his/her arms back (as shown) and hold the candles up high... lowering them will cause wax to drip... sort of selfpunishment?

Punishment

In an earlier stage of this "tutorial" I talked about using positions as punishment. The next positions are the ones that are the somewhat harder forms of punishment.

You can still tell Your sub to hold a certain position, like You'd use it as a waiting position, but these will take a lot more of Your sub then just concentration.... these positions put tension on various parts of the body

the first two pics show a variation to the waiting positions. You'll recognize the standing ones with hands behind head and back, but this time told to squat and hold.

third pic is about the hardest one to do, since it asks quite some flexibility.
Y/you can see how the sub is placed into a position with the legs under the body... putting a lot of tension on the thighs, offering (in this case) the pussy, stomach and chest for a decent whipping.

#4 and 5 show U/us a position in which the ass and pussy are offered for use, or in this case, spanking or whipping...

the last one is based on a yoga exercise, shoulderstand, opening up the legs wide, again for whipping or using as You see fit.

Fucking

The last one in the row of purposes is fucking.... W/we are located in the adult section of O/our world.... so this is actually concerning a big part of O/our lifestyle.

only one position so far, but subgirl is showing U/us what I mean with this position...

This position is exclusively for female subs, although a variation can be used with male subs perhaps.
in this position the sub opens up herself for any Dom to use

I believe the plural for candleabra is also candleabra (its like sheep and sheep - one sheep, many sheep). Its one of those confusing English terms that demonstrate what a stupid, contradictory and downright silly language it is at times :) But otherwise yes you are right about it being the right term (though many these days seem to use 'candle holder' or similar instead :) )

Very good articel and well illustrated. My only experience of this previously has been through the Gorean poses listed in a task on BDSM Academy - many of which are included here - so it is nice to see others.

Well, I came across these positions for the first time in the Academy and the link they came from was a Gorean website. Apart from a brief online conversation with a Gorean slave this is all I know about the lifestyle as they do tend to be rather insular. I think the fact that even we find them wierd and aren't shy about saying so doesn't help and we are wierd enough. :)

It is interesting to see the shared link between the two, however. I suppose the positions are generic enough as there are only a limited number of ways to poisition a human body. So it is probably a case of 'parallel evolution' rather than divergence.

Yeah, good point. Thats probably true.
In all honesty, that position where Subgirl is kneeling, and leaning all the way back so that her shoulders are making contact with the floor..I even saw a belly dancer do that one, so I don't think that is even necessarily a "BDSM" position, technically speaking.
It is a really nice pose though, I don't blame anyone for wanting to use it. :)
In a perverse way, its even one of my favourite poses to do now, even though it hurts me. Partly, I love doing it just because I had to work at it so hard, and it took me such a long time to be able to do it properly. :)
