Was just wondering if there was a way to search for people local to you without having to search thru the personals.

I think this would be a good option for those who want it...for those who don't they could opt out and leave a blank.

I did make a suggestion for this as well ... just thought that if more people commented and sent in a suggestion as well, it might help! :-)

Perhaps something added to the personals thread? You could submit your location if you wanted to under a thread labeled "UK" or "Southern USA" or something like that?

I like the idea of having locations posted. Because it's things like that that could either make or break a partnership. Most people here are older and already established. They could move if they truly found someone that made them tingle inside. But I have school to think about and I've got to either live in Virginia, California, or New York because that is where the work is (I'm in electronic media or TV). I can't work at a successful, reputable TV station or Movie Lot if I'm in Alaska or in the Mountains of Colorado. I have to be realistic and find someone who I can reach (fairly often).

I'm only looking to meet friends who are local....I have many wonderful friends here but chatting through a keyboard is just not the same as chatting face to face...I so wish some of the friends I have here were closer to me

Well I guess I'm one of the "no one's."

I don't think putting a real (general) location should be a problem for anyone.

(But that is just IMHO).

Yep, most DO put in a location or general area... but there's no search on the field.

I don't see it being a problem... those who do, can, those who don't want to don't have to...

Yeah... Add a search please.

I do use my real location.

Searching by area would be great, making it optional only, being able to hide it or put in weird locations like on myspace would let people who don't want the info outhere for everyone.

Or as an alternative setting up a forum for each state, and ones for other locations. I like the set-up at www.ar15.com
