I wasn’t entirely sure where to post this so I put it here. I apologize if it being unrelated to the theme of this section bothers anyone.

I’ve been curious for quite awhile now what women actually think of men with long hair; or rather what it says about a man to you.
My hair is about shoulder length, full and healthy. It is more often than not tied back.
I keep it for me, because I like it, but I’d still like to know just what it is that everyone thinks.

It all depends on what looks and feels good for you, i personally think a well coiffed man is sexy regaurdless of the length of his hair if any he has.

I honestly don't care for long hair. I hate it actually. It's just not manly. And it men aren't manly then that defeats the whole purpose of mans' existence. They are supposed to be different. More mass, more hair on the chest and legs, more muscle, more fat, less hair, more testosterone, more...manliness. If the guy is thin, with tight clothes and long hair on the head and no body hair then I might as well just be with a girl. Because at that point the guy would only be good for baby making. And I personally haven't crossed that bridge yet.

I’m afraid that I can’t help but agree with most of what you said, stranger. I can’t stand those lesserbreds that run around with limbs as thick saplings and long hair to express feminism in hopes of attracting a mate as weak as they are. AKA: The peacock, perhaps I fear in more ways than one.
I am of a different flock.
Perhaps when I post pictures of myself you’ll be curious of just what that may be and fancy yourself a peek.

P.S. Thank you for your opinion.

My personal opinion? I love a man with long hair-
Nothing sexier than a man in a three-piece-suit, and a ponytail...

Tsk. What a pity I don't, as of yet, own a three piece suit.

I'm going to agree with seri here - if I man takes care of himself and is well groomed then it makes no difference to me if his hair is long or short. Certain hairstyles tend to be more flattering on folks with certain facial features or shapes, so case by case basis there.
As for hair length being more masculine or less masculine? Time and culture adjusts that outlook on a pretty regular basis so completely moot point as far as I'm concerned.

I wanted to reply to your question about long hair. I think if you have nice, healthy, thick hair and keep it clean and neat - that's sexy.
If you are balding, thinning on top and only the back sides grow long... not so much...
I like a man with pretty hair that I can run my fingers through and feel tickling my breasts... nice feeling.
Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

Sadie, that actually helps quite a bit. I also cannot stand it when balding men try to hide it with long hair, or anything else for that matter.

I guess the moral of this story is that every woman's preference is different. I for one like receding hairlines. Makes a man look distinguished and wise. Like a person who's "been there."

i really like the look of certain men with long hair, since u did say its long, healthy and you keep it pulled back more often then not, i would say its find.
if the man wants his hair long and he keeps it maintained, then im ok with it.
personally i dont care lol..as long as he's happy with it.
plus it does depend on the person if he, can pull off a long mane Lol

I'd like to think that I'm the kind of person who has the face and body for long hair. Later on, tonight or tomorrow, I'll post some pictures and everyone can tell me what they think.

Depends on the guy. Some guys can pull it off others can't. I like it on some guys but others need to cut it.

I love men with long hair. My ex had long hair and Master has long hair. Now Master loves my own long hair because He uses it as a leash. But long hair on a man----oh yeah!

Well its not something that I cant do without, it really depends on the man. Hygiene comes first, and not all hair types look good long.
That said, :d, I love long hair on men.
My favorite is shoulder length, I just think it looks manly. I am not a big fan of very, very long hair on men, I think it looks girly and not many men can pull it off.
I often tease Hubby that I married Him for His hair, lol. When I met Him it was rather long, but it looked good; sometime later He cut it short (I will do a blog post about that, soon. But I didn't think it was funny at the time, lol); these days He keeps it at around shoulder length, and as Canadians say that looks awesome, :hubba:.
Why I prefer it? Hard to say, it could be just aesthetics of it. Like I said, hygiene is important to me and that makes it clear pretty fast. Also, for guys like my hubby whose job is to play a big, bad businessmen i.e. desk worm, lol, it gives a certain primeval masculinity, and a sense of danger that comes with breaking the mold.

Indeed... there was a time when it was normal for a man to have long hair, mainly because facilities for cutting it were sparse.
Baldness is a sign of sexual potency because it indicates a high level of testosterone if you go bald young which is why some women are mysteriously attracted to bald men.
Though in both cases I think it depends on how it is maintained and looked after.
I was told long long ago that long hair never goes out of fashion - there will always be some women who prefer it. This has so far proven to be true as far as I am concerned. I have never been short of a companion for very long and I often rarely have to do anything to attract them. Of course, now that I am more permanently attached, I don't do that sort of thing any more... :) Besides, I am definitely now getting to the point where I will soon have to consider shaving it to hide the baldness that is starting to grow... :)
Of course, what really matters is how confident you are in yourself and your appearance. Women are wonderful at sensing fear and desperation (which is why attached men often get more attention, because they are no longer desperate) and feed off confidence and self assurance. So, if you feel comfotable in how you look then you will attract women regardless (sometimes) of thier personal opinion of your look (though often they will then seek to change you... being women they are never satisfied with how you look :) )

You know, I think it all depends on the body. If you have long hair but are skinny and short with no body hair then you look non-masculine, no-sexy, and not attractive with-so-ever. Same with short hair. without the ENTIRE package to go with it, it doesn't really matter what your hair looks like. You've got to have a big body with some hair on other places besides your head.

You know I use to have long hair up until the time I cut it and I don't mind a guy with long hair as long as they dont have a long beard to go with it...I like your pics you look good dont change just because some bimbo wants you to change.

Tell that to the Amerinds.
Tell it to 18th century Europeans.
As amber pointed out, style and convention of the times dictate more about your likes and dislikes than any actual relationship to your autonomic reaction to what you see.
If I remember correctly (...soooo long ago....) the -80's were huge on the smooth chested surfer boy look.

Well, my ex had hair to the middle of his back, long side burns, and a goatee...
He was a full fledged metal head and looked darrrrrrrrn good with it. Not everyone can pull it off. But I have a thing for tall, slender, rocker guys with long hair. Gosh his was gorgeous.
But I like short hair too!
And gosh, long hair not looking manly? The right guy can pull it off. I think of the highlander type men on the covers of romance books. Not fabio -throws up- but yanno the ones.. ooooooo yeah!
And yeah... skinny guys in tight pants with the longish hair.... they can be hot too. I guess it just depends on each individual guy.. mm hmm!

I totally go for men with long hair, if the hair is nice and kept well.
My own hubby is called "the Viking" by my gay friends *lol*, because he is also very tall AND very broad-shouldered.
I also like a 3-day beard stubble best, if it suits the man.
The short-haired men look somewhat castrated to me. Short-haired and all wearing the same suits. Like "Attack of the Clone warriors".
Yes yes, I am aware that is unfair, and that most men have to wear the hair and clothes like that for their job. I am simply lucky that hubby is in the IT sector, plus in the European Workers´ Council, and gets paid for what is inside his head, not for what grows on it...
As for "not manly": It was not too long ago, historically seen, that only the lower-class men had to cut their hair short, whereas the nobility was allowed and expected to wear theirs long.
That last sentence is just a hint for the folks who think long hair in men is a "new fashion" or "feminine".
And I agree with wingsofanangel: It does NOT look good on every guy!
The other thing that attracts me is a bald man. I very much fancied Yul Brynner in the "Anna and the King of Siam" series. *lol*
Short hair just does nothing for me.

I love love love long hair on a man. However I can understand that some jobs will require the short hair, attack of the clones look *snicker*. Sir can pull off either, but I'll be honest, I love His hair longer than it is now. (Not as long as it was because waking up to a hair ball because I snuggled Him wasn't overly pleasant) but I do miss the feeling of His hair falling on me or being used as a whipping tool.
His short hair is amazing on Him...but frankly I'll always love the long haired bad boy look....gives Him that menacing vampiric appeal that I've always loved.

As a man with (very) long hair, I've definitely run across women who despise it and women who love it. My hair goes about half way down my back, but I keep it in a pony tail most of the time, and I think it makes me look more dignified, especially when dressed for a fancy occasion. Sure, some people find it weird, or dated, or hippy-ish, but if you carry yourself with dignity and intelligence, it's hard for anyone to bother about the length of your hair on anything more than a superficial level. I'll readily agree that some men look better with shorter hair, but I don't think I'm one of them.
As a dom, I find having long hair not to have much practical purpose (though for a sub I consider it a must, aesthetically and otherwise), but I think having (well kept) longer hair than my girlfriend is something of a psychological boon, in that it inspires extra effort on her part.

Just my 2 cents Hubby/Master has had long hair and super short hair..I like both. It depends upon the man. I also love the bald headed look (shaved or even short stubble.) I like when He first cuts it and the back is prickly when I run my hands over it. I dunno I think it truly depends on the man.I dont care for think men with long hair personally, though I dont care for thin men much at all...dont have to be a probodybuilder, but I take pride in the way I look I hope the man I am with does the same whether his hair is long, short or non existant.
