Today, I celebrate my 53rd birthday, my big question is will this be my last one? I just realized that most of you really don't know a lot about me so I am going to tell you a little bit about myself.

Let's start off with the things that I love.
First and foremost, the most important love in my life is my God, yes I am a Christian, and that's the main reason why I am not afraid of dying, because I know that when I close my eyes for the last time on this side, when I open my eyes on the other side first thing I will see is the face of Jesus.

Second and close behind my love for God is my love for Laura Anne, she is a blessing that God has given me, she has brought me so much pleasure over the months that I have known her, not just from being my sub, but being a friend, and my love.

Third, my friends, they had been so supportive over the last year since I started dealing with all of these illnesses, it's incredible that I have such friends.

Forth, my country, yes I love the USA, I know that this country makes many mistakes, but it is still the best country that I have ever seen, I can truthfully compare it to several Asian countries that I have visited in the past, unfortunately I cannot compare it to any European countries because I have never visited them.

My career, I have been a respiratory therapist for almost 27 years, I love my job, and one of the things I hate so much about being ill is not being able to participate in my job anymore. I loved helping people, making them feel better, and knowing that in some small way I indeed made a difference in somebody else's life and helped them to feel better, and occasionally save somebody's life.

My favorite food is a nice rare steak, or prime rib.

My favorite beer, is of course Coors, since I grew up in Colorado, Coors was the first beer that I ever got drunk on. I also love Bailey's Irish cream.

Things I hate.
The thing I hate the most is injustice, I believe that every person in the world should be allowed justice.

Intolerance, it took me a long time to learn this, as when I was younger I was very intolerance, especially towards gay people.

Stupidity, stupidity ruins more people's lives than anything else, not just their own stupidity but the stupidity of the government and world around them

Bureaucracy, keep it simple stupid.

That's it for now. Remember if you are American, to vote in November, and vote often

Thank you so much for sharing so much about yourself - personally I really really hope that this is not your last birthday. You are a wonderful person and a good friend to all - and I can say that from personal experience when you helped me in the past - you may have thought they were only words but they helped.

and finally HAPPY BIRTHDAY....... you deserve the very very best birthday anyone could have

Grief is sadness not for the dead but for the living they leave behind. let me give congrats on your passing be it 1 day or 1 decade hence. my measly 18 years of life are nothing compared to your 53 but i hope that when my time comes that i live a life that is nice as yours sounds like. To have made a difference in a persons life either in work or in a relationship with them.

Happy birthday my friend!

J and I will share a slice of cake and toast you this evening (I will go bake the cake right now). Afterward, we'll consider a good birthday caning that we'll dedicate to your advanced age.

Next year, give us a little heads up and we'll make it a point to come spend your birthday with you and Laura Ann.

Happy b-day.

I couldn't agree more with you on that line you have about stupidity. We all make mistakes but pure stupidity is one of the things that really gets me upset.

Happy Birthday Midnite.

If this is to be your last, make it a hell of a celebration.

If it isn't, make it a hell of a celebration anyway.

But I'll see you next summer!!
Plan on it!

A belated Happy Birthday, Midnite;

I hope you celebrated well and shared your love with another today.

Let me share a few things I have learned in my years.

My Latin teacher told me, "Dum Vivimus, Vivamus." "While you live, LIVE!!"

It seems as though you have done so; my kudos to you for that. Life is for taking big bites.

I assisted a 94 year old patient in a nursing home for a while. She taught me an important lesson: we are all the same age. She can't remember when she was born, neither do I. She didn't know when she would die, neither do I.
"We are thus both the same age," she said. "I just have richer memories than you do."

I cried when she passed... but realized she had taught me a life-lesson. None of us know when our own Black Camel will kneel, but we must do our best to make the most of every day.

My heart and soul are with you, Midnite.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its uplifting that you are ready to meet your Maker. But whether your Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting you is another matter, :). There is certainly plenty of people here who are not ready to let you go.

A little less than two months before my 53rd birthday (which was last month), I was wondering the same thing, Midnight. "Well, sir, it's congestive heart failure" the ER doctor said. Now, I believe like you do, so I'm not scared of dying, but I'm not real eager to jump into it, either.

Be guaranteed of my prayers and my caring for you and yours, daily, for as long as necessary.

NOW, stop wondering and fight back. Will your body to recover. Attitude means far more fighting this stuff than doctors will ever be able to measure.

A belated birthday wish here for you too Midnite. Please don't stop living until your time really is up.

I was told that I was in my last year in 1996- I'm still here. More to the point, I've now (finally!) had my all clear. It only took 12 years to get there and I'm only 38 now!

Only lose hope when the hope is truly gone ;)

As I read this. My heart knows the answer ,, Master never made it to his next birthday. He was a great man. I never realized the impact he had made in so many lives. I ask 1 thing from everyone. The flag does stand for something. Does not matter who you are. From blacks,,,,to whites,,,to subs,,, to Doms. We all have a say in life. I hope that everyone has and takes the opportunity to be who you are. I hid my submissiveness for years. Master made me realize I am true submissive. Also even though you are a submissive your not a doormat. I will never give up who i am for no one!!
