I was just walking outside in my complex's parking lot, and saw the most odd sight. I passed by an older looking car. In the back window, the sign said "For Sale, 1985 Buick, Call:...." Fine, someone is selling an old car, no biggie. The sign on the front windsheild made me do a double take for a second. It said, in green lettering "Custom Hot Whips". I had to look again to be sure, and yes, that is what the sign said "Custom Hot Whips". I have no idea if that was someone's idea of a joke, or it is real.
Anyhow, just thought I'd post about it, since it does involve a quasi-BDSM thing, and was an unusual sight in the place I saw it.
Has anyone else seen an unusual BDSM type ad, or such, in a place you wouldnt normally see one?
Also, what is a "Custom Hot Whip" anyway? Any ideas?
Mitch
I surely don't know what a custom hot whip is. But recently I saw a burning whip. Maybe there is a connection there?
But didn't you call?
Back in my youth, several decades ago. BdSm got quite a press here, as one of our most popular singers had formed a band called Marquis De Sade. This inspiret a bank to the following slogan. It's in to get Bank" (it's another word for spanking etc. in my part of the world) Get yours in the Suburbs (name of the bank)

I think a Hot Whip is the latest slang for customized cars... we used to call them Hot Rods... no less sexual all things considered.

LOL, Oz.
Okay, maybe I'm a bit naive. (Dont forget, I've only been here a little over a year, lol). I had just never heard that term used in mainstream "vanilla" life before, and thought I'd post it, to get feedback from my friends on the forum. I thank everyone who has responded and contributed to this thread so far.

Lol I SO agree - each time I go to subways I have to grin when I order a Sub of the day - this little private, devious grin.
Where I come from in Cologne there is a leather and BDSM store with a rather obvious window display. Now in my shame I have to admit that I have never dared to enter there.
Plus at work 'spanking' inspires a lot of jokes and teasing (eg. Laila: Uhm, I'm sorry but I think I screwed up the *insert whatever*... Guy in the back of the office: And now you've come to get your spanking?) I have to say that too always makes me grin - a lot. How cool would that be, by the way? Hehe.

We used to drive past the San Jose Screw and Bolt manufacturer... we always exclaimed... "Look! The Rape and Run!"

Today at work one of our travel advisers told a client on the phone "They are mostly into watersports there", which made me wanna laugh so hard I had to bite my lip to tone it into a grin. Of course they meant surfing and stuff but still... very different images in my head.

I used to work for a manager who was in his late sixties and was ready to retire.
He grew up in an industry where there were no women and apologized everytime he said something inappropriate. He was a sweetheart.
Whenever he was referring to someone needing to do something they didn't want to do such as redoing someone else's work he would always say "they are going to need to swallow hard."
I don't believe anyone ever pointed out the oral sex connection.

There's an S&M Barber Shop (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=S%26M+seattle&fb=1&view=text&cd=6&latlng=47400233,-122297024,15786791745023397166&ei=Jb7sSK70EpzGigPD6oDnCw#) near here... and I know there's an S&M car parts place too, as I drive by it and giggle all the time, but I can't find a link to it online.
