Interesting how good news out of Iraq is not reported by the 'unbiased' main stream media. This story, whether you like the war in Iraq or not, is substantive proof that George Bushs surge policy is working. The policy which John McCain supported wholeheartedly.
But if CCN and the 'unbiased' media outlets would report on Irag progress and successes, that would give props to McCains past decisions. Does anyone else wonder why the many Iraq successes aren't reported to the masses who don't bother to figure things out for themselves?
I really would like to know what you get to see of the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan in the media. Like, for instance, the mangled bodies, the crying children, the bleeding soldiers? Do you get to see that? In the news or just in documentaries aired at 3 am?
Or just a distant explosion or those b/w videos transmitted by a smart bomb on its way down?
If you are supporting the war in Iraq; do you think you'd be still pro-war if you'd be shown the gory details of what is happening?

And on a side note: America may be winning in Iraq, and hopefully you not only win the war but also peace. However, at the same time the situation in Afghanistan is getting worse by the day. And it has a lot to do with America entering another war in Iraq and reducing troops in Afghanistan in order to do so. And the situation in Iraq is getting better because militant muslims are leaving for Afghanistan.

And yet some more food for thought: I heard an interesting feature in the radio yesterday, where the reporter said that the picture Americans have in their head when they hear "War in Iraq" is the toppling of the statue of Saddam. For a large part of the rest of the world it's that picture of that Iraqi prisoner, standing on a box, with a bag over his head, his arms outstretched and wires attached to his fingers. Talk about different perception of the same.

As has alwaays been the case, the Meda here is based on what the people want to see and hear, yes we tend to be Liberal but them again I have never heard ant major rambling that our Media Coverage is to Liberal and for thosre who feel it is, MOST TV sets have knobs or switches to change chaneel, they need to watch any FOX Channel to recieve "Their" view point, thier meaning those who feel the media is too Liberal.
The United Stayes needs to concenrtatre more on Afghanistan now then Iraw
After 7 plus years ans nearly $10 Billion a month, the Iraq Goverment MUST show it abiulity to control it's own destiny
As long as we remain there, the Iraq government has no motivation to show it can handle it's own and as long as this contonies they will have USA TRopps there, it is time that the Iraq Goverment stand up for otself andsay, we can handle the situation and SHOW it can
The $10 Billoin a month we as American's spend there, is better used else where, if Iraq CAN'T stand on it's own 2 feet now when will it??
As the OLd saying goes ro the Iraq Government ,WE MUST tell them "Fish or Cut Bait"
The news Media in this country covers wha they feekl is new qorthy, some agree some don't FOX Channels the most conservative give those a good Conservative View and maybe "Truer" view as to what is going on in both Countries
