Dominants have their Dungeon,
Switches have their Chaisse,
but why do Submissives only have a Couch? Where's the alliterative fairness in that? I demand a Settee!
(And while we're at it, surely Switches should have a Swing!)

yea why only a couch why not a cage or say a pen sounds more logical then couch. I mean why would a sub like me be sitting near a dom like an equal i find it more real to be at her feet.

Submissives have a couch because historically they've always had a couch (in chat, in other threads, etc).

ah as always the kajira has it right in the last words, i always thought the subs had the skins on the floor to sit upon. seems right in that otherworldly sort of way.
Why aren't the subs kneeling anyway?

I realize that this is an old post, but I stumbled across it & completely agree that "Submissive's Couch" sounds a little strange when the other names "Dominant's Dungeon" & Switch's Chaisse" flow so much more nicely together.
How about "Submissive's Sofa"??? Means the exact same thing & yet sounds soooo much better!
