Sir and I share a journal. At the top of each page is the date and Sir will write tasks/goals for both the short and long term. Often he will write about the completion of previous tasks, how well (or not so well) I performed, and give me feedback/praise. On the back of each page I must write something everyday, no matter what. I write about my reactions, how tasks/play made me feel, what I liked or disliked, etc.
This has greatly increased our communication, particularly because it is often easier for me to express myself with a pen and paper than it is with words. It also gives a record, a history, which we can look back on and see how far we've come. It is one of my most cherished possessions.
