As for tips, this is a very nice and good place to learn and ask questions, but one should always be mindful to be careful - safety first....some said that this thread should be a sticky for newbies, there is some really good advice http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19572.
As for turning it into reality, do a search as we have a lot of threads that deal with R/L safety, first meetings...etc. Read, read...and if you cant find something, feel free to ask questions.
