I guess one of the threads I started got lost in the crash.

It's important enough, imo, to restore.

I learned that the blood test that can be an indicator prostrate exams, the PSA, must be taken before the Digital Rectal Exam (DRE) as the DRE itself can change the results, upward, if the blood is taken up to two weeks later.

So while your doctor (should) knows this and won't do the DRE first, those men among us who enjoy their subbie's wandering fingers during a blow job... or their mistress' finger, strap-on, or hand up their arse... or maybe you're just gay and like bottom role... we need to know this too.

'Cause you sure don't want your doctor ordering more invasive tests just because you like a little backdoor play.

I've recently had the DRE, where the doc says the prostate is enlarged a bit, according to "average" size, but some are going to be naturally smaller or larger. When the DRE was complete and the milking specimen collected it was sent to a lab, which showed no bacterial infection or other abnormalities.

Since the PSA can give both false high or low readings it is best to have two tests taken a week apart, and from different labs. Both of my PSA tests were very close in results and also well within the "no-concern" guidelines.

Maybe all of this anal play is good for you?

Recently been to see an andrologist and found that they don't tend to bother with that test here - just the DRE, if at all. I was rather disappointed that she didn't want to do a DRE on me, to be honest... my sexy GP promised me that the specialist would 'probably want to do that and maybe use some sounds on me' but in the end she didn't. Shame cos the andrologist was cute :)
