When life gave me a hand so vile
All my soul began to rile
And from my sadness spewed the bile
Of my anger at the dealer.

So when the dealer never came
I shackled myself in a cage
Made of self-pity and my rage
My world became much clearer.

Locked in the sickness of my mind,
My only mission to survive,
I thought of ways to pass the time
By thinking of my death.

So when the clock kept ticking on
And when I'd held on for so long
When my last spark of hope was gone
I took my final breath.
