I found this link in my travels today. I look up BDSM'ish things each day. Trying to find my 'groove'. I am very much an 'energy' person who has strong leanings towards spiritualism. If any of you are interested and have time to read this and comment - would you please? I would love to know if this is how any of you see your BDSM experience?

I believe that those wishing to find and or incorperate spiritualism in their bdsm practices or anything else for that matter are nothing new.
Tantrics among others connected sex and spiritualism a long long time.
Spiritual sexual experiences need not involve pain eaither.
And how much or how little one wishes to precieve as being spiritual within ones life is of course completely up to the individual.

It is a way of seeing one kind of bdsm experience, and quite a few people use pain that way, as other would use meditation or the like. I believe some people can also use long term strict bondage that way.

As I read the article and understand the question, this way of doing it is not sexual and does not use sexual energy. It is more a kind of transcendental experience in the self, where certain boundaries collaps and give access to more of one's self.

Yes thir just as it is amongst the Tantrics, only sometimes sex is involved.
As for what is and is not sexual in the article or in anyone elses spiritual practices, I sugest we leave that to the individuals involved.

Why? There is a person here who would like to discuss these matters, and if anyone feels like sharing, I do not see why they shouldn't.

Hmmmm, thank you thir, I am going to go back and read that article, as I did not notice the lack of sexual content. You may very well be right! Can't believe I didn't notice that!
I totally agree with you denuseri, what is spiritual and what is not is a totally relative thing. I just found the article quite rivetting in her description of the connectedness she found in her experience and wonder if others find that type of connectedness as well.

this makes me think how so many chrixt ppl worship a crucifix a torcher device as a symbol of there faith and if on a crucifix you too after some time will accept your place and endure shock and fall in subspace were your biological nervous system will adapt to such torcher that you might feel it as a pleasure with out a choice in the matter. i ask is this spiritual or is it close to death that we awake to such euphoria?

Super interesting question. Who can ever know. I suppose it is just our individual interpretations that become our truths.

Friends, we enjoy a variety of kinks for our pleasure. For me, BDSM (especially bondage) is fun, albeit a little naughty fun Isn't it a little pretentious to invoke "spiritual" elements? Also, when I hear the word "energy" used outside a physics context, my BS filter immediately kicks in.
