Frequently This One has been asked by T/those new to the D/s lifestyle, how to go about being a Dominant/submissive. That is the driving force behind this post.

I will not offer any guidelines...nor will I give a checklist...Each Dominant/submissive is different in their own unique ways...What may be a strict no-no for O/one, may very well be much practised by A/another.

What This One will offer is a few words of no-strings-attached advice to those who wish to understand the true essence of the D/s path and wish to revel in it’s intoxicating mystery....

submissives, have a care in choosing The One for you. Take your time and be wise because that Someone should not just use you but care for, nurture and respect you as well. The gift of your submission is invaluable and worth no less.
Any relationship that gives you no room to thrive and makes you believe that you are unworthy of the respect you deserve, is but a sham.

Dominants, it would be wise to know the submissives, before locking Your collar around their necks. Once You do own them, they are Your responsibility. Take this responsibility seriously and act in such a manner that will keep Your submissive as safe as possible....they are not off the supermarket shelves that You can return one because of the lapse in Your judgement. Break not the spirit of one who has laid her/himself in Your hands, with a trust unconditional.

This One believes Not in velcro....A collar should not be handed out like halloween candy...If You donot mean it, donot offer it....Remember that A good Dominant must be in control of Themselves first before They can even hope to control and nurture another safely.

Dominants and submissives, whatever drew Y/you to this lifestyle...the only way to stay in it is to know what it entails and what your role in it is...read...learn...grow. The resources are plentiful.

Lastly...There are no shortcuts in this lifestyle....If self-discovery is what Y/you desire, it is best Y/you prepare to walk the rugged paths, step on/dodge a dozen or so minefields and spill a little sweat and blood here and there....Rest assured that the reward is worth the journey...

Blessed be,
^Black^

I will not offer any guidelines...

Not to be an ass, but it seems as if this was contrary to the point of your post.

*Laughs* But I agreed with so much of what she said, anyway.

Yes!

When you take control away from someone, you also take what were their responsibilities upon your shoulders! (This is one reason I have heard from subs of why they enjoy letting someone else take control. Makes all the hard decisions in life easy- just go ask Master what to do)
