Dead and Gone

why couldn’t you be the better man
let me win one and again
but you never would
you’d just knock me down
hold me under
watch me drown

then you blamed me for being dead
and it was your hand that held down my head
I’m gone now and that’s all fine
I’ve dropped the ball crossed the line

it’s all kinds of grey here
not yet to the black
I’m dead and gone
not coming back
