Rules for posting pictures to this thread:

Posting of copyrighted pictures is prohibited. If you are not the photographer, then you are required to get the permission of either the photographer or the hosting website on which the pictures you wish to post are found. If you do not have permission to redistribute the pictures, then you may not post them.
Pictures posted should be of good quality. The pictures should be clear and the content should be on-topic. Please try to select pictures in which the models seem to be interested in what they are doing.
Please try to post pictures that have not been widely viewed. Likely, if you have seen the pictures multiple time, then so have many others here. Picture content does not have to be entirely unique, but content should not be mundane either.
Please try to post only pictures here that qualify as "Favorites." Favorite pictures should indicate something unique, or special to the poster, or a type of quality, or depth of content that one does not see everyday.
The poster of the picture may want to include an explanation of why the image is one of their favorites. What qualities make the picture special to the poster? This may aid viewers in appreciating the picture and seeing it from the perspective of the poster.
Please post all photographic materials, except those personally taken by you, to this thread. If a picture must be posted to another thread, please try and have a reason for posting the picture. Please only post pictures to other threads for reference material, or as the subject of research or a query. (e.g. A picture is posted of a butt plug and the question is asked: "I have never used a butt plug before; is this a good sized one for a beginner?")

I find the work a little over reliant on technique over content for my tastes. The photographer is too involved with taking a good photograph that he doesn't appear to be involved with his subject never mind being inspired by it. I find the work rather static and mannered. The photographer also seems to want to give his work the gravitas of renaisance paintings. Why?

Modern cameras are lightweight and easy use, allowing the photographer to be part of the action. This photographer doesn't seem to care about his subject. He is so detached. The last thing I want to think about when I look at an image is the technique gone into creating it. With this work it's the first thing I think about. If the photographer is involved and inspired by his subject, that energy should be coming through to me. It doesn't. This is a gripe I have with much that is passed off as erotic photograhy, it just isn't erotic even though the subject might be. Though even here the subject is something of a cliche, I've seen these images done so often by other photographers.

Look at the photographers Eric Krol and Araki. Their images make you think they really get off on their subject matter. That radiates to their audience.

Hmm. Maybe I've had a bad day.

Those pics make me think of death, decay and autopsies, they don't appeal to my sense of eroticism unfortunately.

I agree totally with AndrewBlack. Those pictures do not seem at all erotic, just depressing. (But I'm not a student of photography :dunno: )

A special thanks to Moon (http://www.geocities.com/moon1299/) for allowing me to post his photography here.

For my money the third photo is far superior to the others as you could really believe the model is fatigued by a genuine scene and the master has just broke off to take a photo of her. The others are too posed. I'm not into quasi-religious photos so the first one is a turn off. The last one the model is so limply tied to a bodged cross she could simply break free and run away so it's unconvincing. The second photo looks half hearted. Maybe I'm just hard to please. I just wish I had permission to show some of my collection of photos. The model really needs to play her full part and as I have said in a previous posting, the photographer need to convince the viewer he is getting off on the images he's making.

Hehe I like the hooks and the mummification and ropes...oh and the crucifixion was to die for....eeeesh, but not the peeing in the bucket! I caught myself saying ewwwwww like a little kid :rolleyes:I guess I'm never going to really grow up, sigh. Sexually arousing? No. Stimulating to the senses? Absolutely! Great!

SOme of these I find erotic the others I don't find at all erotic. However, as a photographer I can say they aren't erotic to me, but they are sure great pieces of art! They were diffently done by a true artist with an eye for the unusal.

I love the artistiscness of them.

(is that a word? LOL)
