Longing for the unknown. Hidden in the shadows.

I was not sure why. I could almost see it.

It drew me. It compelled me. It enticed me.

Years looking. For what I was not sure.

A wispy shadow, beyond my reach.

Momentarily making itself known.

Jealous, that you took another.

I wanted to yell, what’s wrong with me.

Can’t you see?

I want it to be me.

I called you Sir. Not knowing why.

I ached, and wished you could see.

I wanted for what, I did not know.

I wanted it to be me.

I despaired it would never be.

I dreamed someday, you would choose me.

I looked into the shadows, and hoped to see.

Please favor me. I wanted to be free.
