View Full Version : Hey!
So I don't know if it's my complete boredom or my great curiosity that finally brought me here, but here I am. And as that suggests, I am new to this.
I'm 19 years old and have been interested in the BDSM lifestyle for awhile, probably longer than I knew what it was. I've read quite a few stories about it, which probably doesn't say much besides it feeling slightly weird to actually be looking for it in the "real world". A bit like being an avid fan of Doctor Who then one day finding a big blue box in your back yard. (I'm a bit of a nerd. xD)
I'm curious about it though and I don't know where this post will take me, it might not even take me very far, but I'm excited to figure out what this is all about and if it's actually for me.

Hi anie,
i can relate to your situation quite a bit. i'm 19 and have been interested in BDSM since before i really knew what it was. And i'm a pretty big nerd! lol. This website is fantastic, for meeting people, for learning and just for finding out more about the lifestyle and how you want to fit into it.
i hope you enjoy your time here and find everything you're looking for!

Hi karley!
I'm ecstatic to discover another 19 year old here, I was kind of afraid that I wouldn't find one. (not that being older is a bad thing, it's just nice to know people my age have the same interests, especially with stuff like this) I'm glad I stumbled upon such a great resource. :] And thank you, me too.

i know, it took me a while at first to meet some people my own age. haha it wasn't too big of a deal for me anyway (i tend to gravitate toward older people as it is) but it's nice to know that there are some others out there in my age group! If you ever have any questions feel free to ask me and i'll do my best to answer them! :)
Yeah, I tend to be surrounded by people either a couple years older or younger than me, so I try to latch on to anyone who is my age when I can. (my interests generally create the gap, unfortunately) As for questions: 1. wanna be friends? :] and I think the rest are personal, so I don't know how appropriate it would be to ask, it's mostly stuff like how did you get into it? What sort of journey have you had with it and how do you integrate it with your normal life? (again you don't have to answer)
Thanks. :]

Welcome to the site!
Just remember...fictional stories are no where near the real thing.
Otherwise, have fun exploring and please be safe.
karley - yay! and okay. :]
denuseri - Thank you, and I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm hoping for that to turn more positive than negative in the long run, but that's kind of why I'm here... to test that out and see if these fantasies are actually something that should be made into a reality or if that's all they are and this isn't for me. No matter which way it goes, at least I'll be left knowing instead of having it be a big question mark in my life, you know?
Either way, I will. ^_^

Oh yes...and there is no reason why some fantasies can't be brought into one's life as realities, just keep things safe, sane, and consensual and you should do fine.
Of course not. :] Excuse my n00bness here, but what does the sane in that mean? (the safe and consensual speak for themselves, just curious about the sane) Anyways, I'll definitely will.

Sane = do things that aren't outright crazy or that will definitely land you in the hospital. Don't agree to something that another wants you to do if you don't feel comfortable with it. Don't try something that sounds fun if you both don't have the experience to back it up. Stuff like that.
Ah. That makes sense, definitely don't wanna do anything like that. :]

Hi, anie.
Welcome to the Library! I'm also quite a bit of a nerd, so you're certainly not alone there. You'll find that won't keep you from making friends here. Take your time, and read through the forums. There's lots of information, and no need to rush. Enjoy!
Hello and welcome from one newbie to another :)

Hi there and welcome. As you say you are a boob and nerd, I highly recommend a book Screw the roses, gimme the thorns. It's a good intro and overview. Not all encompassing by any means, but it does touch on safety. Now the really big question. Old school or new Dr Who? Do you own a scarf?
SirStein - Hey and thanks... I'm confused about the boob comment though... New Who, though I'm working through the classic's. I've watched all of season 1 and The Three Doctors. And yes.
