On 15 December, 2011, Christopher was pronounced dead, the cause being the cancer he was diagnosed with almost a year and a half ago to which he began chemotherapy soon after his publication of his memoir Hitch 22. It is certainly a saddening event, but let us not forget the truly amazing man that he was. Possibly the best rhetorician of our age, someone who rarely ever debated or argued someone who could actually challenge him intellectually, a true Leader of the Atheist movement, a man who left no argument un-argued, a man who challenged religion and God to his last breath. His legacy will live on, his mark in humanity will never be erased. I, and many others, will truly miss the irreplaceable man who invented he word "hitch-slap" Christopher Hitchens, and inspiration for all.
