I just joined today and find people really friendly here. I am submissive but keep getting told I am not a "real" sub. I have met a few so called dom's lately but they dont really seem to be that dominant. I have discovered lately that I really like being spanked and its pleasurable. I am then told that I am abnormal because I like it. I am really getting confused so hope I can talk to people that feel the same.

The reason I joined this site, was because ,my wife enjoys begin spanked. There is nothing abnormal about it, and it has brought us closer together because now she knows she can share anything with me and I know that I can do the same with her. I have found people on this site to be really helpful, just ask and the answers will pour in. You just have to decide for yourself whether they help you or not.

Greetings kathy, and a warm welcome.
Spanking for pleasure is regarded as a "kink" so by definition lots of people will view it as "abnormal". Does that make you as a person abnormal? Absolutely not! I would contend that the majority of people have some form of kink even if a large number never move out of fantasy and into reality.
And the reason you can find spanking pleasurable can be scientifically explained. I do not know what proportion of people are capable of experiencing that pleasure under the right circumstances, but am sure that if people were taught how to achieve it there would be a lot more with the same kink.
Just in case you do not know (and because I like showing off my knowledge!), the reason is that the body reacts to pain by producing endorphins which are the natural pain killer. When done correctly the amount of endorphin released into the body can give a "trip" many times more powerful than hard drugs.

I did know that it was to do with the release of endorphins as I work in the medical field. The thing that did get me was the "trip" and I did experience that, way above what I have ever experienced before. The only problem that I see is that it is addictive.

In my opinion addiction is only a problem if it is harmful to yourself or other people, however this topic has now gone beyond my competance at giving you a knowledgable answer so if noone else contributes to this thread I would suggest if you are concerned at all to put this question in one of the other forums such as BDSM 101.
And I'm sure you know that there are help groups for people addicted to sex, which I relaise is not exactly the same thing but may possibly be related.
Hoping this helps

Hi, kathy350
Welcome to the Library! Most everyone here is really friendly. i also wouldn't take anyone else's advice about whether you're a "real" sub or not. i've often found that those offering similar comments are often compensating for their own insecurities. Enjoy your time here.
