One helpful idea that might get some traffic to the Writer's Section could be an idea swapping thread. Put simply someone posts a scene/idea they are trying to flesh out and other writers respond to it with some feedback or ideas. In return they the leave their own question and are given some ideas back. Basically you get feedback and you give feedback in return.

A sticky thread might be an idea for this one and hopefully it might spark some renewed interest and dialogue between fellow writers.

Not a bad idea at all. We are currently doing the initial planning to totally revamp the writers section of the forum. The Writers Block is going to change formats and I hope to rework the other forums in this area as well. I will definitely keep this idea in mind. We might style it as a writers lounge where you can come, exchange ideas, get help with problem areas, etc.

I also would like to open a chat room one night a week that would focus just on writing, be it prose or poetry. Take the discussion out of the lobby area and segregate it. If we get enough interest we might even try a moderated chat where one person does a presentation on some aspect of writing and then there is a question and answer period afterward.

Glad you like the idea, the writers lounge sounds like a good concept.
