Hello Everyone. I am new to the site/also new to BDSM. I've done my fair share of sexual exploration throughout my late 30's/early 40's (44 here) and I always thought something was wrong with me when I found myself turned on by BDSM instances, like I must be a deviant or something. It's becoming more difficult to suppress these wants and desires as I get older. I'm just looking to dip my toe in the water and see what it's all about and if it's something I can be cool with exploring.

As you toy with your sense of identity and belonging, you might find it helpful to realize that your "deviance" isn't terribly deviant and is, on whole, a signal of good health and a source of strong relationships.

It's certainly possible for us to screw things up in any relationship and in any set of life choices, but the simple preference for a power-exchanging relationship is not all at a bad thing.
