My experience is that for the dynamic to work there needs to be a connection supported by trust respect affection and understanding. Mechanical roles rules and blueprints with predetermined outcomes rob spontaneity and lead to disappointment.
Id much prefer to create a safe secure sacred space where either can express anything without fear of judgement or unrealistic expectations.
