Anyway I have been reading for awhile looking for some recommended links on how to tie someone up, Looking for a site that shows how to tie people up with ropes in various positions and using metal rings etc.
Any helpful advice kindly appreciated.

Here are a couple of links to yahoo groups that share a lot of information, sites, and seminars on the subject. It's really not my thing. :D

Note these are FREE yahoo groups. ;)

This thread has various rope bondage links: I’d like some shibari & suspension basics (http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3733)

As a bondage beginner I can recommend the BDSM Backroom Bondage Lesson
http://www.bcwsd.com/backroom/library/articles_us/bkurs01.htm

Since you mentioned metal here is a guide to steel bondage
http://www.sexuality.org/l/bdsm/steelbon.html

Digressing a bit from the rope theme – hardware store bondage shopping: If you have wrist and ankle cuffs (comfortable ones of good quality that won’t cut into the flesh), a cuff’s D-ring can be attached to a rope or chain or wherever by using a safety springsnap or a panic hook. For clipping cuffs to something or together, a double-ended snap link / double ended trigger hook works well.

The advantage of these is that the bottom can get out of the bondage, albeit with some fumbling, if for some reason the top topples over. It eases my mind and makes it more fun for us both if we know that in an emergency he has a way out.

Ahhh Ranai, too bad you can't personally demonstrate your knowledge...:D

Can I humbly ask for a few examples of your work? (Hint, hint...)

Thank you for posting those links :)
I will work my way through them and try and work out some positions that involve a bit more than the std around the wrists and ankles type thing. Cuffs/wrist & ankle restraints are missing from our collection at this stage perhaps Santa would be so kind to leave a set ;) we have both been good at being norty this year.
