My names dave. Ive only actively looked into BDSM for about 1 year now, but now that i look back on my life i realise i have always feel this way. Keep it off your neck!!
Don't use tape over your mouth and then tie off your hands. (nasal congestion can kill if that's all you've got as an airway.)
The final tie-off to a solid object, should be a slipknot that you can untie by pulling on it with your teeth.
