Advice on getting started?

I just recently found out that my SO was quite the sub, and we've been experimenting with a little D/s play recently.

Although the concept is not new to me, this is the first time I've acted as a Dom. Any advice from someone thats done this a lot? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Also - I'm really hesitant about this, since I'm afraid I'll really hurt my gf accidentally. Is there a way to keep this 100% safe?

100% safe? Well like anything else that depends on what you do. If you keep it mild with just some spanking and handcuffs you'll probably be all right. The more extreme you get the more likely something may go wrong. The best thing to do is research the hell out of anything you plan on trying. If it's an instrument you plan to use to beat her with, try it out on yourself first to test how hard it hits.
