I was wondering if the ability to put a watch on a certian author exists. So I can get an email notification, or something along those lines when they post a story. I have found a number of authors I would enjoy following, and hope they continue writing. However I don't know when or if they will post again. If this function is not available, could it be incorperated?

That's a cool idea! Please I'd love this option too.

Umm. Are you both thinking of the same person as I am? I'll give you a clue, because she's very modest. Her name is aussiegirl. :) That enough of a clue for you?!

Tee hee.

Yeah she's pretty good eh? I've been finding it hard to get into bondage fiction for months, but always enjoy her stories.

I just might try & fulfill some of her fantasies sometime as a fitting reward....:)

Right now it is not possible----as we are trying to dump this old software if we can ever get it migrated to the new software without loosing data---we will not be adding anything to the old system --it is fragile enough --lol

You just have to do like most do ---do an advanced search by author ---and see if there are any new additions---the only plus to my job is I get to read them first before they are published -----

Please do nothing to upset that fragile balance :)
But you have to read the good, the bad and the ugly. I don't envy you all the work. Smiles

Oh, come now, Rabbit1. That can't be the *only* perk to dealing with us fine, upstanding people. *bats eyes*

In the meantime, maybe you could just email the author & ask nicely if they'd let you know next time they write something?

Tojo

Tried that, the paticular author I am interested in hasn't written anything in 2 years. They didn't respond to an email either. I googled their pen name, and nothing except on this site. I tried a few other story sites, just incase the author name was imbedded into the site and a seach engine wasn't able to retrieve it, and didn't get any results.

I will just keep an eye on the new stories list on the main stories page, till the database gets migrated, and this feature can be added.

Love with my work load I do not get to deal or mingle with you fine upstanding people as much as I would like ----so the stories are a big perk to me ---yes I read the good the bad and the ugly ----but we do have some fine new authors ----Aussie Girl is one of my favorites too-----

And PS I did not say the feature would be intergrated in the new system ---I just said right now we can not even think about adding anything to the fragile system we have ---Part of the problem is poorly written code ---

Oh guys, you make me blush. Thank you though.

There is an ongoing story online right now which H Dean and I worked on together. It is called A Detail of Intimacy and was a story H Dean started and then I worked on to finish. Though the beginning part is mostly H Dean's work, I did add my own ideas and edits to the piece. Do check it out.

Tojo, I am holding you to that reward you know!

If an author were to set up a thread in the Story Feedback section that provided links directly to all their work on the site, would that be acceptable? I don't see anyone doing it yet, but I don't see why not.

anyone can do a search by author so there is really no need for it ---all you have to do is hit advance search ---type in the author name ---you can search by story code that way too ---but if you want to post in the author forum a post with links to all of your stories I see no problem with it ---but lets all authors do it in one thread ----Call it author story links or something like that ---OK

Just clik on the author's name on the main story page and it will take you to their story list.

I may not be needed but that's hardly a reason not to do it anyway. At any rate, I don't have anything up in the library yet so it's all academic for the time being.

I would say it's a good idea to set up a link to their story site--if only to save time for the person searching.
ANd i don't think there'd be any need to worry that by doing so ppl wouldn't check the storyboards for new stuff- because not Everyone is gonna have an outside site set up, nor will they (prob) include a cross-referenced account of all their work:rolleyes: so enabling the reader easier access to stuff would be great!
