We skipped down paths of silver snow,
Saw the ice spears hang from the limbs of the trees,
And in those early days we laughed
Unaware greater times could ever be.

Like a pair of children,
We took each day as it came,
Rolling down the haystacks,
Thinking it a game

The mellow Autum daunted not,
The love that soon was ours
And we survived the problems,
Of a hard life and its powers.

When times were cruel we cried our tears,
And wiped each others cheeks
Tenderly wed travel on ,
Strong carrying the weak.

A partnership , that’s gently grown ,
Maturer over time,
Thats leads me to compose my love,
This true but simple rhyme……………

For though we now are aged,
No longer young and slim,
Although your belly bulges outwards,
Where once it was caved in,
I need you more today my dear,
Than in that far off time.
And though our bodies may failing
Our love is in its prime.
