Chained!

Trying to dream up a story about some guy who's into self-restraint. I've spoken to such people and they're able to chain themselves up and a type of time-locking device frees them.

In my story, the guy's very clever indeed, inventing a futuristic machine which chains him whilst torturing and feeding him daily. Only trouble is it develops a fault and will never unlock. So, he's now condemned to a life sentence in this machine.

I'll have to dream a few techy details up, i.e. how does the machine get food, etc but that's no big deal.

Any ideas? Will it be as dull as dishwater?

How about it can get more food through the use of Internet shopping (like those fridges which tell you when your running low and you can order more)
