Hi Level Three Students,

The reading assignments are posted and may be read at any time.

It may happen, that you've finished a writing assignment and have not been given a new one.

If this happens to you, please post in this thread or send me a PM letting me know that you are ready for your next challenge.

If you're the type of person who needs a firm deadline, tell me and I'll give you one. Otherwise, I'll expect you to check in at least once every few weeks to let me know if you are busy on your assignment or busy with life.

To your success,

Ruby

It's 2007!

If you are looking to get back into the swing of things and
* want a new assignment,
* want to switch an assignment for a new one,
* or just want to work on exisitng projects
and have them reviewed, please let me know.

We can work on a plan that's right for you.

To your success,

Ruby

Hi, Ruby, hi, everyone. I'm very pleased to be here! I will be starting to read the reading assignments today. Meanwhile, as far as writing assignments go, I'm happy to put myself up for a challenge from Ruby; or one from my friend Debs: she sent me some time ago 12 words to use in a story. I set myself the challenge of using each of those words in a different context, to use each of their varied meanings, within the same story. I only got as far as the dictionary research... and life intervened. The words are:
Playful
Scrabble
Momentarily
Tender
Obsequious
Coating
Involuntary
Caught
Ambition
Calculate
Turned
Bound

I have no idea as yet for a story using them; apart from the dictionary research, I have given it no time or thought.

I leave the choice to you entirely, Ruby (or to change the list, or whatever).

Hi, Ms. Ruby. I do hope this finds you well and happy. :)

Life has had a hold on me for a while now, keeping me all tied up (and not in the way I'd prefer). Even so, I'd like to try to get back into my writing. If I had an assignment from you, I cannot find it anywhere. My apologies for my apparent misplacement. :o

Might I have another? Please?

~hugs~

tessa,

I believe in this situation the correct format is.

"Please ma'am, may I have another!

I'm sure Ruby will oblige. :crop:

Please feel free to misplace an assignment when you reach level four

~looks about hesitantly, then says (in a really poor British accent)~

Please, Ma'am, may I have another?

Maybe that will do the trick. :o

Please feel free to misplace an assignment when you reach level four

I dream of reaching Level Four. Perhaps when I finally reach that summit, I will do just that.

And thank you, Mr. Mad Lews, for the advice. :)

Most gratefully-

Savor level three while you can. The first assignment of Level Four is the biggest wall I've hit in the Writer's Block, though let's just not talk about Queen Epithymia.

I hope this post doesn't hijack the purpose of this thread, but, I felt the need to respond.

I saw your assignment, Razor. Even though English is my first language, I had to re-read it several times. ~snicker~

You are the writer and interpretation of the assignment is yours to craft keeping in mind the parameters he outlined. The examples were for illustration, right? ~Correct me if I'm wrong, Mad, my coffee hasn't kicked in.~

The exercise, at least as I see it, is meant to push you outside the box and challenge your imagination. It's a creative writing task.

What do I mean by thinking outside the box? For me, the boxes are structure and pov. Listening to music takes me out of the box. I keep changing the music selections until I find one appropriate to the topic I'm writing about, but it doesn't have to relate to the topic at all.

*couldn't find a song to put me in the mood for my first assignment tho...heh heh.*

Thoughts of structure and pov stifle me and have to remain out of the picture until it's time for editing. When it is time to edit, music tends to be a distraction and therefore, I refrain from listening.

Anyway, that's how I approach the battle. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.

Hope this helps.

Tessa,

Please check your PMs and you should have a new assignment soon.

Thanks for your patience. It's been one of those weeks.

Razor,

Queen who? I've forgotten all about her and won't revisit her again unless you really want me to.

All,

Muse, is correct.

Happy Friday!!!

Thank you, Ms. Ruby. Much obliged...I hope. ;)

(And no patience needed. It's been one of those past few months for me.)

Razor, the reason I dream of getting to level 4 has little to do with the Queen (whom we shall not mention) and lots to do with substantive Mad offerings and drooling Beasts who need reading lessons. Good luck with that wall, though. :)

Hi Ruby

May I have a proper assignment now, please?

TYWD

Hi TYWD,

Yes, you may.

Same assignment as before, except add the following:

1. It must be a different story.
2. Use the past and active tenses whenever possible and appropriate.
3. Make the reader believe that you are a woman
and use the first person POV.

Good luck!

Ruby
Who's really looking forward to spending some quality time reading everyone's recent assignments.

Thank you for that first assignment Ruby. It was a tough one. May I have another? You might laugh at this, but, something I rarely write outside of blogs is vanilla. *the horror* Some type of scene/essay/story that's a little more mainstream would be another type challenge. What is more mainstream? I mean something that can be submitted to a wider audience than a bdsm audience, something like a review of a recent gallery exhibit.

Nikita

Who is also going to make time to read the recent submissions this weekend. Sheesh, I'm up way too late.

Nikita

Or...another piece of the same type, a short, maybe something I've never written about and tell why I chose it?

I've been all over the place.. got back into college, new job, no net XD

I would really like to start writing on this site again and was wondering if that could begin with a new assignment? =)

Two I believe... a long time ago. I'm actually not interested in continuing on that assignment which was creating the next chapter for one of my stories.

Edit: Actually, after rereading the chapter I posted last year (http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8891) I dont think I'd mind writing the next one, depending on whether you'd like to see something different or curious enough that you'd like me to keep going.

=) Either way

Okay - well, I am strapped for time a bit but I will try to have something for you by the weekend.
