View Full Version : The Rock that never cries

I held my friend and she looked at me,
tears flowing from her eyes.
I looked away as she said to me,
yer my rock that never cries.

Three sad people stood in the rain,
as a pet was laid to rest.
Water ran from my children's eyes,
as God put them to the test.

I held them close, as we walked away,
and as I gazed up to the sky...
My son hugged me tight and softly said,
yer my rock that never cries.

We watched the fire as our home it ate,
loosing everything inside.
My words were calm as I said to them,
at least none had died.

I held them tight, with a mother's love,
letting out a long, deep sigh.
Teary eyes then looked to me,
the rock that never cries.

I held her hand, as her time drew near,
my heart breaking deep inside.
She knew she would not see the tears,
from the rock that never cried.

In the still of the night, a pillow feels,
the dampness of a tear.
Silently shed within the dark,
where no-one will ever hear.

For when the morning sun comes up,
those tears will then have dried...
Never telling anyone the truth,
about the rock that never cries.

That was beautiful but to hide the tears is something maybe a little thought should be given to.

I do cry on occassion... I just do it alone where the tears can never be used against me is all.

I`m sorry you have the experience that tears can be used against you, if I got that right. I wish you could cry and be comforted for it, get it overwith and feel better and know you could cry again when its called for. I`m so sorry. I have big heartfelt hugs for you if you need them.
Your poem was tough reading. You master the writing very well, desperadosong. Thank you for posting and sharing.

I know the feeling of not being able to show my tears, but have a special place, about 10 miles from here, right in the middle of nowhere, where on occasions I will go and release all the emotions. I am not sure how it helps, but it leaves me better able to deal with the issues. Oh, and I have also been known to confide in cows or ducks... Can be very therapeutic explaining something, particularly knowing it will never go any further.

I really hope this doesn't sound patronising, but I would love to hug you right now ... no words have to be said, just a strong bear hug...

The best work is that which comes from the heart.

Thanks for sharing a small part of your heart in
