~Myself~
I have been asked to look at myself,
and write down what I see~
I close my eyes, and drift inside,
taking an honest look at me.
The girl that's there looks back at me,
with a smile upon her face~
As she slowly begins to open up,
and tell me of her place.
Dreams drift by of memories past,
and things that changed her life~
A love so deep it split a heart,
like a sharpened knife.
Riding horses, relaxed and calm,
across the fields of grain~
Taking chances to try the things,
she may never do again.
Beneath the hardened shell outside,
is a soft and tender girl~
With dark brown eyes as she looks upon,
a big and facinating world.
As her fingers trail across the band,
that softly caresses her neck~
A smile embraces her crimson lips,
in her eyes a sparkle flicks.
Looking deeply into her eyes,
I can plainly see~
The waves of deep emotions,
comming toward me.
She sees things from the deepest sense,
though many times mis-read~
As into her tender heart it's kept,
as through life she's led.
And as she slowly turns away,
I see the glimmer of a tear~
I sense that it's a happy one,
for one she holds most dear.
