Can't Run Scared

I wrote this for someone, and he suggested I post it here. Don't tear it apart too much.

There are things, which one cannot forget
Things, which one cannot undo
Though I may want to leave
I can never run from you.

I can’t escape the longing in your gaze
Nor the furrow in your brow
I’m not sure why I’m grasped so tight
Not sure why, and not sure how.

Something about you draws my nearer
Something about you keeps me close
Of everything I’ve left for this
I miss myself the most.

For now we are one being
Joined in sorrow and woe
Or in joy and love
Into the darkness is where we will go.
