One of the things life has taught me is that more power you have the more likely are you to be the one washing up the champagne glasses and mopping the floor.

So I have ordered losts of handcream and look forward to being to help care for this site, which in reality means the people who come here.

What's the difference between a moderator and a super moderator?

Well Tom - that is something I am still discovering, but as I understand it, the duties and powers are similar, but enhanced.

The primary duty is to care for the site and all who sail in her, keeping her a legal, healthy and happy place to be.

As a supermod you keep an eye over all of the forums rather than just some, authorise attachments, make Rabbit's tea and check all the mods are behaving themselves, and do scary things like ban people.

I am still pressing buttons and seeing what happens - so if you find that something truly weird has happened it was probably me after a double espresso.

So what types of mods spank the naughty posters?

Both kinds - but supermods have canes rather than just paddles.

Although seriously, surprising as this may seem given the nature of the site, we prefer not to spank people for naughty posting. Unless it is something exceptionally serious or illegal, we take people to one side in PMs or emails and explain why we consider they are being naughty and look for a way of including them constructively rather than excluding or alienating them.
